Best site for aftermarket headlights?
Been doing some searching and most of the HID or aftermarket headlight websites look kinda sketchy...wondering if anyone has had any particularly good luck with a certain site or place I can pick up some headlights.

what are you looking for exactly?
New bulbs for your 04 STI? New ballasts? a full projector retrofit? LED strips? etc |

xtralights.com sells the ones i have (the black housing)... but theyre a pain in the ass and i wouldnt go this route again, im going to say that the fitment of any aftermarket headlight is going to be **** compared to stock... i had to do some work on my fenders and shim out the lights to get them to sit properly.. the only benefit is the projector if you dont have them stock...
oh plus the halos went out within less than a year, and theyre such a bitch to replace the LEDs, i just opened them out and blacked out the halos too |

Don't do that. Seriously. Waste of money. Instead, sell your STi headlights to some WRX owner for cash plus his headlights. Then retrofit those units. Since you will be junking everything that makes an STi headlight an STi headlight in your retrofit, you might as well start with WRX headlights and make some cash on the deal.
But stay away from non-OEM headlight housings as they ALL look and fit like **** and they turn yellow really quickly. Trust me, on this, I've seen way too many eBay kits and the all sucked. |

Should I just try to get a used set of STi headlights then?

a projector retro will be better.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ buy OEM components though, they make a difference. |

Whatever you do, don't drop a "kit" in there.

Retro is worth it. There's even the Retroquick DIY in one day kit for only $300!

^not for a 04-05 wrx there isn't. The retroquick systems replace the stock halogen projector, he needs to add a projector to a halogen reflector.

Get it done by this site and never worry about it again. He got his start doing retrofits SPECIFICALLY with Subaru's and his quality of work, correspondence and customer care is second to none. Do yourself a favor and go with them. The first time. Rather then buy some cheaper stuff, have a light go out while driving at night, get pissed off, and then wish you had gone there in the first place. Peace- TurboTod |

So am I able to order a kit specifically made for my car from them? That will just basically plug and play?

p.s. angel eyes/halos rely only look good on a bmw. |

Well thats a matter of opinion. My buddy's hawkeye pulled halos off really well. Which were installed by lightwerkz. They are a top quality company. You can either do as Gregmyer said, which doing your homework always helps, OR spend the extra coin and have it done professionally and headache free.
ps I had ebay lights with a projector housing on my old bugeye. The beam pattern is trash and they barely light up the road = giant waste of money. |
