Thanks for the pixs. I’ll keep an eye out for the rebuild. I bought your td04 for my xt a couple years ago. Its time to upgrade it to a vf48.

Ah yes I remember that! Well I finally got it completed this weekend with a few issues along the way but it is done.

The reason for the repair.. Well at least in my mind. This last banjo bolt filter that I was sure was removed. I think even with my very clean oil and low miles it caused the Vf48 to leak a bit more oil than I prefer. Looking to tune the car soon and want everything in tip top shape.

A few photos

Here is the rebuild link and diy! Tried to take as many photos as I could while getting it done in a decent amount of time. https://www.blingstrom.com/diy-proje...the-technology

Links to parts used on the website and many photos.

Nice write up! Once I get my built trans installed I’m going to rebuild my turbo. Hopefully I’ll get to that this week. Do you have a link to the CHRA you used? I looked on eBay and think I found the one you used. Thank you for all the info!

Thanks man I sure do. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Mel...53.m1438.l2649

There is your link. Wish you much luck getting trans in and turbo rebuild. Should be a excellent couple of upgrades and give a dynamic change to the vehicle.

Another week goes by and autocross season gets closer. Most everything is setup on the car currently and finally found time to burp out the coolant and allow it to warm up for awhile. Appears everything is good and no leaks currently, which is always a great feeling.

Updated the website with a new review for adjustable end links. Which can fit well on either of your project cars.. lifted or lowered. Check it out here. https://www.blingstrom.com/blog/2019...mmed-to-lifted

My links appear to be from Whiteline but I am not a 100% sure as they were purchased used. Going strong for the last 3 months with a much better feel on turn in.

Made a DIY about replacing your 06-08 taillights to 03-05s. Which also includes a how to on solo testing your rear lights for proper operation and replacing burnt out bulbs. Link here: https://www.blingstrom.com/diy-proje...06-08-forester

A few photos from the afternoon.

Swapped out my cabin air filter in my 06 Forester and made a quick DIY for others. Link is here! https://www.blingstrom.com/diy-proje...er-air-for-you

This guide will also work well for 02-07 Imprea owners as it is identical.

Few photos from it.

I wonder how many never notice this warning on the driver's side dashboard.

Where it starts. Removing all 9 screws from the glovebox and surround.

There is where you were trying to get to and where the filter resides.

This is what I was greeted to when I removed the first time at 196k miles.

Yup, gross.

Damn! I try to change my cabin air filters out every 12k miles. They can get bad quick.

I am pretty lazy about it and rarely run my air. I shouldn't definitely replace the Stis filter, it has been almost 5 years.

Haha! I have put 30k miles on the STi in 7 years if that helps you feel better! I also pretty much run with the windows down. But now that I say that I will definitely post up a picture of it to see how bad it has gotten over the last 5 years.
