Proud new owner!
Hi all-just bought my first subaru today ! It's a 96 legacy ls awd in the silver metalic color. Automatic but hopefull that will be changing soon.
Plans for it will be to turbo it or get a svx 3.3 shoehorned in there. I'm looking for a set of wrx/outback brakes for it first thing. I know i'll need the calipors-brakets-pads-rotors-anything else? What about the 15" wheels-will they clear? If not then this gives me a great opportunity to get some wrx wheels! Will the master cylinder work with these brakes? I have abs too. How will the proportioning be? Wish me luck 'all Brent

Hey congrats brent! Just to show what nice guys we are, we won't bash your newbie dreams too badly! :
a) the SVX motor won't fit in the BD body and neither will it's trannie b) to use the wrx/outback brakes you'll need to have 16" rims - minimum c) the master cylinder should work just fine with the upgrade. but FYI, there may be a recall on your master cylinder. d) if you really wanna go the best route, change the dual stage booster to a single stage one- it'll give a better pedal response g'luck and congrats again! -chrisC SQC #013 |

Thanks for the info guys. Somebody is working on a turboed impreza with a svx engine in it.... i think force fed industries?!! Anyway... if it will fit in an impreza shouldn't the 3.3 fit in the larger legacy?! Plus that who would really want an automatic in there sports sedan anyway? Not me.
