Question Whiteline end links (torque wrench)

Recently I installed the adjustable whiteline rear sway bar with the polyurethane bushings and end links. I want to know if I should use a torque wrench with a specified torque when tightening the end links. The reason I am asking is because a day after the installation, one of the end link bushings (the one's that look like an hour glass) developed a crack. I am not sure if it is all the way through, but I noticed it. Also, because this bushing is sandwiched between two fairly large washers, should I be driving my car, or should I go back to stock until my new end links arrive? (It hasn't gotten any bigger and still handles like stink)

P.S. It is the top bushing, the one that the sway bar is attached to.

it was too tight, despite what the included instructions say, you are suppose to tighten only to the point where the bar makes contact with the bush (so no play in the bolt) and no further... I had to replace the bushing spacer and all the hardware on my links after learning the hard way...
