![]() Legacy XT Sport hits 0-60 in about 6 seconds. 23 MPG City/ 31 MPG Highway. Weighs 200lbs more than the WRX GT while costing $8,500 less.

![]() The WRX wins obviously. It's the only Subaru to get the all new Subaru Performance Transmission.

![]() It's not all that surprising to be honest. That's part of why so many companies are switching to global platforms for their vehicle lineups. Reducing costs is one of the driving factors for that.

![]() VW MQ Platform for the MK8 is amazing. Drove mine today for a long time and I can tell you it’s the best “performance” car with 4 doors I’ve owned in a very long time. My 2016 STI, RS, etc can’t compete. Drives like a 70,000 Audi

![]() MK8 feels cheaper than MK7 and the interior is a disaster. It looks like a minivan too.

The GTI/Golf has been a steady change in aesthetic updates over the years. I'd hardly say it looks like a minivan. I think the 7 and 7.5 were a bit more sleek looking, but I wouldn't say the 8 is polarizing and wildly off track and awful compared to the previous gen. MK8 feels just as solid as the MK7. The infotainment choices VW made was indeed stupid, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it feels "cheaper". And even if it did, it'd still feel better than the plastic oasis that Subaru interiors are known for. The GTI is still the benchmark in many ways for an all around hot hatch daily driver. I think that if VW can fix the software issues some owners have reported and rethink their choices on the control interface, it'll be a solid car. |

![]() Unfortunately it is no longer the benchmark. The cost cutting from the prior gen is very evident in the interior quality cheap plastics and poorly designed infotainment system.

![]() LOL that's really terrible but I would still take it over the disaster that they put in the new GTI. The Premium/Limited infotainment is much better.

![]() I mean that's probably what it'll amount to when all is said and done. People will appreciate the car after it's gone. All we really have to do is see if Subaru makes another performance concept vehicle to know if one should snatch up the final year of the WRX or not.

![]() Mk8 interior is great, very clean and simple. Yes, they need to fix a few things (I have no problem with a button free existence, but haptics and slow processing/bugs seems to be an issue). The new WRX interior looked great on the Levorg with red accents and digital cockpit. The USDM Non-base version is ok, nothing impressive. Not nearly as contemporary as the Mk8.

![]() The headunit bothers me a lot. I enjoy my 11.6 screen (Feels unnecessary - Love Audi units more), but, ****, when you have to pull the sucker out, its like a TV out of the late 90s. Thing is fat and goes deep into the dash. I mean I know everything like driver aids n such tie into it, but its a behemoth and I don't expect to see anyone providing an aftermarket set up for it anytime soon. Medusa's snake hair can be found just beyond your screen lmao.
And the reason I was taking it out was I was trying to figure out a "Phone" mirroring system for it. There's a few independent guys that have been successful but so far they've only got Youtube to work, but it doesnt go in full screen, just looks like the Youtube phone app on display. |

![]() Not cheap feeling at all. Keep reading reviews online - I spend my money and buy the cars I want. There might be a few plastics inside that aren’t as good but my GTI feels as solid as my X3M. You’ve avoided my question as to how many Subarus you’ve owned……multiple times. Keep being a freak obsessed WRX fanboy who drives a GLI

![]() Straight6 is a weirdo. Never owned a Subaru and talks about all these carsz
MK8 interior is right there with the current Audi/BMW offerings. It’s much better built quality than the 340I I sold to and it’s doing a fine job as it’s replacement. I couldn’t bring myself to buy a MK7, but the MK8 is amazing. Seats, steering, engine all feel excellent. Kicking myself for not buying a golf R |
