I think the current is fantastic. As far as body lines it really filled that void left from the LGT -in my weird mind anyway lol. Though, as we all know, bigger isn't always better. Wish there was more euro spec mentality like they did for the 4th Gen Legacy.

One positive I like is the fog light area.

But adding the Solterra-esk bumper cladding with a fake vent doesn't look great. At least they could have made it functional or put led accent/drl lights in there. It reminds me of the last Forester XT with the fake bumper vents.

I prefer this look to the current model. But I cannot unsee Alice Cooper or any number of 70's shock rockers in white. The other colors will be much better IMO.

I do like the current version and pretty much think it's the best looking of all of them(once I got past the cross-eyed look). I was thinking I may like this better when I first saw it; but, it wasn't very large up on the screen. Now, I want to see what it looks like at night(headlights and fogs) cause I like the current fogs better.

AND Subaru did not state it was for increased fuel efficiency... anywhere. Yet NASIOC has globbed onto the fuel efficiency narrative that was NOT put out there by Subaru. DUMB The video from savage geese which came from Subaru's presentation (as evidenced by the road and track article) says it’s to stabilize vehicle movement... you left that out of your options... NASIOC is frustrating. Just making stuff up that feels good.

I'm just not really sure what your argument is, SoDealer. If textured plastic is beneficial for one, why is it not beneficial for all, regardless of MPG gains or not?

it's definitely ugly, rear bumper is worse, but the fenders and the rear bumper are both bad.

It's the defenders of the texture that made up the MPG benefits. The rest of us are just rolling our eyes because we see through the bs. Show me some actual race cars that utilize this, and maybe there's a story.... The fact that they're not putting it on all of their cars is telling that it's not doing a damn thing.

Spent some time with them back in September and again some with the first one we got a few days ago. It really doesn't bother me look wise. I actually like contrast. Doesn't look 80's base model to me as it does to others. I DO worry long term fading though. I've already planned on possibly getting those pieces and sealing and storing them when I get mine. Then, when I can't keep them black anymore, SWAP!

I think it's funny trying to compare one car design to another and especially to race cars. Can you show me another car that has the exact same lines as a WRX to benefit from any particular aero design done to the WRX? And this even goes for other Subaru models. Not the same lines at all between them. "not a damn thing" when shown the proof. Hmmmm Just because the look is hated doesn't make it not viable.
