Default reputable place for rebuild axle?

anyone know a good place around CT that does good job in rebuilding driveshaft axles?

This. If you just need a new half shaft, just buy a new one.

rockauto has them for $122, including core cost... You aren't going to find anyone to rebuild a half shaft for cheaper than that (most likely).

i heard the aftermarket aren't as good and usually fail.

How's your OEM one doing?
What year car is it? What model?

Buy a "reputable" aftermarket, not the cheapest thing you can find.

Where are you "hearing" this from? There are certain things that people do not recommend aftermarket on, usually sensors, electronics, etc. this is a piece of steel and some bearings. Not a lot to be crappy.

so unless you're tracking and rallying the car on a regular basis, I wouldn't worry about it.

Autozone remans are lifetime warranty. I bought one front and one rear, and usually swap the fronts on a yearly basis. Haven't had an issue with the rear for the 3+ years, and multiple rallycrosses.
