It takes a truly exceptional moron to try to turn a Fox convertible, with its wet noodle chassis, into a track car. That would be why you don't see many of them. Hell, it's rare to see any Foxes these days other than in AI/AIX, ASedan or CMC racing.

Are you going to attend the late april FATT?

Does anyone here teach during the FATT events? I've had a teacher from Nasioc... Brockster. Way cool guy, I was hoping to find another Subaru owner...driving coach.

I was wondering the same thing. The instructor bios on the website have very little information.

The April FATT sold out before I had a chance to sign up :-(

It was a good weekend for sure. Everyone went home with shiny paint still, which is always good.

I thought your car was quick, Pat. . Sitting next to a GT3 sort of changes perspectives though. I'll have video as soon as I can render it out.

After 4 solid hours of flogging on track, I think the old NT01s have finally bit the dust. Damn those tires are hard to kill.

It is the gopro HD from 2010. Older version not the new fancy one.

As for wind noise, which case back do you use? I use the sealed one, not the one with the open back. That cuts the wind noise down quite a bit. I think it has a lot to do with mounting location as well? Not sure...this camera let's me down all the time.. Either it errors during a session, or the battery runs out. Or I forget to turn it on after I'm already in the harness.

Maybe the microphone is more sensitive on the new ones? Wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe it's where I mount it? I have it tucked up into the lower grille with one of their permanent mounts. Or I may have a magical version with less wind noise. I'll gladly trade it for a newer one if anyone is interested

Well...it looks like it was just a blown fuse from a lose battery connection. But now I have a very strong transmission oil smell. Don't know if it's related yet.

hrm. sometimes its the simplest things we overlook?

Weird on the tranny smell though. Did you know there is a breather hole at the top of the rear differential? I didn't Well until i saw the rear diff coated in gear oil.

Don't think it's the rear diff. Doesn't look wet. And this was with the car just sitting. Going to get under it this weekend.

Also, I updated the calendar with the Trackdaze VIR event (I'm going) May 5-6 and Summit Point event May 19-20.

Anyone want to go to Watkins?

Summit Point FATT just announced a Twilight Series. 5:00PM - 8:30PM. I did a quick look on their site but couldn't find info. I saw the announcement on their Facebook page.

-----
Alright FATTers! Here is the scoop on Twilight Track Time:

Twilight at The Track will be the same as FATT except from 5:30-8PM in the afternoon, and can be any day of the week. The track will be open to all participants for the whole 2 1/2 hours giving you more track time than a FATT. You MUST have street legal mufflers to run in this event, and ALL cars will have an instructor in them at ALL times..

Prices are: 7-12 drivers= $300 ea
5-6 drivers= $320 each
4 drivers= $400 each

Maximum allowed is 12 drivers. Get some buddies together and call the track to schedule a date.
-----

They also have night time seat time but you either need a race license or been cleared to drive solo.

Let me know if anyone wants to do this!!!
