I'm going to see if I can test drive one while I wait for my 19' WRX's recall service to be completed.. Just waiting on dumb omicron to subside some more..

Is there potential for the BRZ to replace a vehicle in your line-up? Or is it going to be an addition?

Oichan, but I like to leave a bit of chaos sometimes by opening it up to a group unannounced.
Also the thread isn't exactly blowing up, so I didn't feel it necessary to quote oichan. - Dex |

Gotcha. My plans are to replace my Fiesta ST with a BRZ once they're back in stock. Seems like the twins are really hot right now, so that will probably be a while.

I remember when I had my BRZ and this dude in a Fiesta ST was feeling extra saucy and totally smoked me on the road. They seem like fun, little cars. More practical than a BRZ. Any particular reason you're done with your Fiesta ST?

I've had it for 8 years and I have a hankering for both a new ride and RWD car now. It's been a great car, very fun to drive, but the Ford econo car roots are starting to shine through a bit much on things like trim pieces and the paint. If I had the space to park it, I'd keep it and get the BRZ, but I just can't make financial or practical sense out of that choice. I'll definitely miss the hatch, but I appears you can fit a surfboard in a BRZ, and there are some pretty clever hitch setups for bike racks. Wifey has a bigger car, so that's always available when we shop or road trip.

I totally understand. I can't really justify having two vehicles as a single guy living in an apartment. I do technically have space for a second vehicle, but I'd rather save it for guests of my own or the neighbors. Would love to have a significant other who had a more practical vehicle so I could just have my one, fun vehicle. Also I'm more focused on traveling, and it's nice not having any car payments.
The BRZ actually has a good bit of room. I used my BRZ to get Costco groceries, move across the country twice, and generally loaded it with things that surprised me that it could handle. I think the 2022 BRZ is the best time to jump in on a BRZ. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, good fortune to you on finding one. I'm still not really considering one until there's a tS model. |

Traveling I’m getting burned out with it. The airport, the 10am check out times, and most importantly, dealing with the got damn tourists. They would ruin a got damn wet dream. I found a spot where I could live and travel infrequently as everything I want will be in my area. Some want to be super mobile, others want to buy land and throw down far away from the busters and traffic. |

On that note, it's not too difficult to fit 3 motorcycles in one spot.

Mine are jammed in around other vehicles. Garage has a pwc on the trailer my DD, and three bikes jammed around them. I’m doing the opposite….looking at rural, barndo, BAF garage. Hopefully 3500-4000 sq ft.

Yah, I would not replace any of my cars for the BRZ so I would just add. I prefer the GR86's facia vs the BRZ this time so I'd get the 86 (in white) instead if I decide to get one of these twins. I think it would be cool to own the GR86 and the GRSupra together.. |

There were 5-6 of the new twins at an autox last weekend. I have to say the BRZ looks better in person than in pics, and the GR86 looks about the same. Both look good from multiple angles.
There was one on coilovers and the rest were stock. Interestingly enough the stock ones didn't have excessive body roll in comparison and looked very composed through corners. The one with coilovers was faster, but not excessively so. I sat in two, a base and a limited. The seating surface and interior in the limited cemented my thoughts that it's more than worth the small price bump. The base isn't bad in any sense, but once you sit in the limited it's definitely an easy decision. I also tested head clearance. I'm 6'2" with a 32" inseam and with the seat in the lowest position I had more than 3" of clearance to the ceiling. I also felt too low in the car, and that was with the seat in a relatively upright position. A friend who has a longer torso than me also sat in it with a helmet on and fit as well. He mentioned his helmet was just brushing the ceiling, but he was able to get into a comfortable driving position. I would say all the concerns about fitment are pretty moot unless you're over 6'4" and still have a 30" inseam. One note, the pedals aren't great for heal toe with the gas pedal being sunk slightly. I felt it was fine, but I had to think about it to do it well. I didn't get to drive one so I can't comment there, but the people who did all said they were pretty fantastic given the price range. |

Really like this color, and the wheels they put on it are more or less what I'd put on it. I'd prefer the 1.6L out of the GR Yaris Corolla to the NA 2.4L though, yeah I know, COG, NA vs turbo.. I just wanna go fast.

2023 BRZ is now orderable. No changes except small price bump. I was surprised ordering for 23's opened already, seems early but maybe that's normal timing for that.
Someone who put an order in yesterday got a September ETA. https://media.subaru.com/pressreleas...Kr4s-RpVRfolvA |

They did add rain or mist sensing windshield wipers.
I forgot how late the 2022 came out, so I was completely surprised about 2023. Makes way more sense now though. |
