So alot of people were asking how I was able to find my 2005 STi that I was the Original owner of. Actually it found me.. The Current owner remembered a post when he bought it that indicated that If I had the means, I would love to buy it back and he reached out to me asking if I would be interested in buying it back.. It has had 4 owners.. me.. a 3 month transitional person that sold it after 3 months after buying it from Subaru of JAX. That person sold it to a friend and he kept the car for 9 years, mainly down in Orlando Fla. That person went thru various stages with it. He sold it to the current owner, Another Friend, but not before asking me if wanted to buy it back, back in 2016.. I couldn't afford at the time as life was going thru a transition for me. Fast forward til now and like I said, the current owner, whose owned it for the last 4 years, reached back out to me to see if I would be interested.. .and here we are . I am beyond stoked to get this thing back in my possession and look forward to keeping it around for the long haul.. A brief pictorial history from Brand new listed below including various Liveries of when I owned it before as well as the current configuration towards the end. It spent life as a Autocross car when I owned it before, but now will be enjoyed just with meets and cruises. It still incorporates many of the Mods I did when I first owned it.
-JDM Fogs
-JDM Sidemarkers
Many other JDM goodies. I have already started accumulating many new parts to get it back into New condition, Including new drip rail moldings, New Belt moldings, New undertray, Intercooler Gasket, New Center Gauge Pod, New Gauges.. and lots of other goodies.

Brand New

3 months after I owned..STG 2 Tune

Subaru Challenge

Swoosh Livery

Current.

Bringing it forward..so you all have the story

Picked up a Pristine U brace and some OE STi Sideskirts. The Sideskirts were on a AutoCross car .. the good news is they are Aspen White.. the Bad news is there is ALOT of cone rash on them and they are going to take alot of work to get into shape..

I think I ordered the last round of Dealer stuff today..
-Sideskirt Clips.
-Sideskirt Endcaps

Everything else is in except one of the Torsion STi Decklid Rods *Trunk Springs are ready for pickup at mt Dealer.
So I will have plenty of projects to keep me busy in the future.. to install everything..

Took the car on a 400 mile round trip excursion yesterday .. Basically to shake it down and make sure it was all good. It rained part of the way.. which was ok.. needed to verify everything was able to seal up.. with no leaks..
- Water Temp never got over 205.. usually it was hanging about 180 the whole trip
- Oil pressure stayed consistent at 65psi while cruising

It did throw a P420 on the way home.. it cleared.. and didn't have any other issues..

I will get some pics of the sideskirts.. they are in pretty rough shape.. but nothing a little time and elbow grease won't take care of.. *hopefully

More Later

Got ALL my ordered parts from the dealer so I will have plenty of projects to keep me busy.
I got:
-New Cowl panel
-New Left Rear Arch Molding in WG/51E
-Bunches of Clips and bolts.
-New Wiper Arms
-got some used Door panels/switches and switch plates out of a used STi. but they seem to be in better shape than the ones I have soo SCORE.. All the Panels/window-doorlock switches and housings for less than what a Brand New Door panel would have cost.
-UBrace will be installed now along with the new undertray ..
OH The Biggest News: Its currently at one of the best Dent specialist in the state if not the country.. 30 years of experience to get the body in Pristine Shape.. then it might go back to my Detailer for once over before I put it up for the winter.. It will be in pretty much show condition when I finish all this.. Still working on the Strakes and touchup of some chips in thel paint on the front. Still a blast to drive Big smiles... My Flatbottom Steering wheel is being made up right now and should be on its way soon Have a great day People.

It's great to see you restoring your old car. I've been doing the same. I was sick of seeing the cars being parted out so I bought a white 2005 sti from an auction that had hit a big buck in South Dakota and have been rebuilding it.

Keep up the awesome work!

I love it. I have the cash, but I wish I had the time and space to do something like this.

I still own the first car I ever bought. It's a 1990 Mustang GT. It's sitting in hibernation in my Mom's garage in California. One day I'll do something similar to this and build it up as a restomod project with my daughter.

That feeling you get when you sell a car and you see it driving away with someone else in it...but then seeing it come back down the road back to you would be awesome! Such a rad story man
