OK Battery update: Went back to AutoZone to check on the battery.. As suspected.. it did not hold a charge..so I asked what my options were. Dude said, As long as you have the phone # I can look it up.. SCORE.. as the previous owner is a friend of mine.. No problem. Gave him the #.. and up comes the previous owner on the screen.. OUTSTANDING.. so I wanted to upgrade the battery while I had the chance to one that had more CCA and one that supposed to be in the vehicle.. Stock Subaru Battery is Grp 35.. the battery that was in it was a Grp 26R... so it was smaller than the the orginal..I opted to get the stock Grp 35 with 800 CCA.. the old one only had 500 CCA.. and I paid the difference for the upgrade.. a whopping $24.63..so Now I have the "proper Grp 35" installed with a 3 year free replacement policy and as stated, "800CCA" ..I love when companies take care of their customers...it makes it all worth it

I installed the new battery.. then went on a short drive to cycle everything.. and reset my navigation and Radio Stations. ALL GOOD..

I would take a pic of the new battery.. but I figured you guys already know what a battery looks like.. Have a great day people

Bill

Bummer. What are you using to straighten the fins? I'm thinking bicycle spoke from the backside?

I found a tweezer pack in the $2.99 Bin at the Hardware store.. one of the blades on one of the tweezers (6pack of various shapes and sized tweezers) is just about perfect.. but I like your bicycle spoke idea for some of the more extreme damaged ones..

Then I found this on Amazon.... a Fin Comb..it arrives on Fri... we'll see how it does...

Not a whole lot going on... it was 58 degrees here today and I wanted to take the STi for a spin.. but didn't have time before I went to work.. Snow on Saturday... so the window of opportunity to drive is closing. That will keep it in the garage til Spring.. so I can install some of my Goodies hopefully over the winter.
Things that I have to update and install.

-VF48 Turbo
-Grimmspeed Divorced/Catted Downpipe
-Upgraded Factory intercooler
-Stage 2 Pro Tune/Cobb AP
-18in STi wheels/tires
-Sub Woofer
-JDM Rear Spats and Rear Aprons
-HP AC line
-Re-finish K&N Heatshield
-Re-finish Intake manifold in Factory Cherry Blossom Red
-Rear Wheel Bearings
-Lube and Grease Everything
-Ceramic Coating and another round of Paint Correction
-Get Factory Goldies Refinshed in the Proper BBS Color

That should do it and get the car to the presentation Standard I want it at with all Systems 100%.. Then.. Enjoy the car like it was meant to be.. and hopefully COVID will be in the rear View mirror then .. That way other people can Enjoy it also, as it should be in decent Shape.. Looking soooo forward to that.

Thanks for following along

Current Look before it gets put away... Enjoy

Bill

Cranked the STi up and let it run and get to operating temperature.. Still solid. Oil pressure at idle is bit low.. but a quick rap on the throttle brought it up to where it needed to be. 60psi. soo all good..

Quicky update... Got a some Amazon Gift cards for Christmas...enough to substantially lower the cost of a Brand New Upgraded Topmount with minimal out of pocket expense.. So it will be a (Complete) Stage 2 when I get to install the Grimmspeed Limited Catted Downpipe. Upgrade to the VF48 with a Billet wheel and a larger Topmount... Excited to get it there and keep it. When I had a Stage 2 before.. it Dyno'd out at 323 AWHP and 368 AWTorque on a Dyanpac Dyno. It does have a upgraded Walboro 255 Fuel pump... it was pushing 22lbs on a VF43 at that time. don't want to much go over 20lbs this time around due to the Age and mileage of the original Motor.. So with 20psi it should cover all my bases ... it will be upgraded.. with faster than stock spool with the billet wheel and maintain it a bit more consistently. Hope everyone had a great Holiday Can't wait to get everything installed .. probably in the Spring now. we'll see.

Thanks...
Ordered my summer tires for the Factory 18's.. 245/40/18.. We'll see how they work. Tread looks decent for my purposes.. and if I get the itch.. They could be used for performance driving such as AUTOX or HPDE.. TW:180 ..so kinda soft.. we'll see how sticky they are oh and they fit my Budget PERFECTLY..

Well.. Happy New year.. I decided to pull the trigger on Brand New VF48 with a Billet Wheel. Excited to get this on along with the downpipe and new TMIC. than put a decent tune on it. I had been shopping for a stock VF48 and just didn't trust any of them so I decided to buy new. Would a 3 port Boost controller be necessary if I am at a 'conservative' Boost level?? like I say no more than 20#'s ...just wanting the Quicker spool and a more consistent boost curve thru-out the power band .. Enjoy

Bill
