In case any of the local texas autocrosses might be interested in a stupid fast car:
1994 BMW 325/328i autocross, trackday, race car for sale
NOW ON EBAY: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4615038255 I am putting up my 1994 325/328i for sale. It is currently prepared for the FP solo2 autocross class. The car is a blast to drive and has had many FTD (fast time of the day) finishes in autocross events across Texas and had a strong showing at Nationals as a DSP car. In its current state the car is usually faster on an autocross course than a race tire equipped z06 Corvette with similar driver talent. With its light weight and upgraded cooling system this car would make a great track day car. You can drive it to the track with your tools and race tires inside and go seriously fast then drive it home. It can also contend for fast time of the day at every autocross you go to. The car is not pretty but the important parts have been taken care of and it performs amazingly. Car Summary: Engine - 1998 328i engine at 250 horsepower, 55,000 miles Chassis - 1994 325i with 160k miles. Total car weight ~2600lbs or less Suspension - Ground Control double adjustable coilovers, with adjustable swaybars, camber plates, etc Wheels/Tires - 18x9 OZ Superlegerras with Kumho 710s 245/34/18 Gutted, with race seats. Car Detail: Power: 2.8L engine M3 cams M50 intake manifold AA 3.5" cold air intake with 3.5" maf and smoothe silicone elbow underdrive pullies AA track pipe with resonator Bob Tunnel custom lightweight catback SMT6 piggyback engine computer allowing custom tuning with a laptop AEM wide band 02 sensor to facilitate tuning. new spark plugs lightweight flywheel with new stock 325i clutch Suspension: Ground Control double adjustable, rebuildable coilovers. 600lbs/inch front springs, 700lbs/inch rear springs Ground Control articulating rear spring perches Grond control adjustable, lightweight front swaybar eibach adjustable rear swaybar Rear trailing arm limiters Delrin front control arm bushings New control arms all around Motor-Force camber plates 18x9 OZ Superlegerra Wheels 245/35/18 Kumho 710 race tires (about 1/2 life left) A set of usable but dinged up 16 inch wheels will also be included. Other: Lightweight carbon fiber hood with hood pins installed. Lightweight carbon fiber trunk lid with latches (not yet installed) Lightweight battery Lightweight race seats Lightweight carbon fiber sunroof panel** Interior gutted. Dash still intact, heater core and condensor not yet removed All lights, signals etc still functional New windshield. The overall package is a hair slower than the old c5 z06, probably due to the smaller, heavier, runflat tires the c6 z51 uses. But with the coolers it has, and better brake calipers and bigger rotors, it should be much more durable on a big track. |

Z06 differences: Race durable, 505hp motor (vs 400 on the others) and its probably underrated Dry sump oiling system ( can handle high g forces) 335mm tires aluminum chassis, making it lighter than the regular c6 cars monoblock brake calipers stiffer srpings/shocks/swaybars aerodynamic improvements with a front splitter and rear diffuser wider fenders, hood scoop |
