Threads are the same you just need to pin the wires or splice them to the old connector.

Just finished installing this EGT Probe from thesensorconnection.com and i can tell ya it works just as the original Defi Probe.

Just make sure like they say previously to reverse the leads as Yellow is the positive wire on the sensor.

so it seems as thought i cannot use this if i have no existing egt probe to replace? as in i bought a defi egt gauge with no sensor (but have the half of the wire that connects to the control unit), this is unusable? or is there a way to bypass the plugs on the defi harnesses?

If you have the wire that is supposed to connect to the Egt you can cut and solder them.

sensor connections, chris, great guy and up front. We were looking for numerous other sensors as well and yup, he's gone as far as sourcing them to make sure we get what we need. Even letting us try a couple out to make sure they are within operating measures.

Bump to 2014 - this just saved me some serious cash. $50 vs $200+ for the same thing. Be mad all you want that I'm bringing it back but it's too good.

Yes, this is a little late, but I was wondering people that said my original defi sensor failed...What were the symptoms when your sensor went bad ?

My EGT readings have always been a near 1400 @65mph, lately its been drifting upto 1600, then back to 1500, then 1400 then 1600 again. Even at idle, use to be 850, now 950 to 1000. WBO2 gauge shows around 14.5 as always at light cruise and 14.6 to 14.8 at idle. And fuel trims are still in the -2 to +4 range, not showing the engine is lean or the ecu is needing to add a bunch of fuel. I am thinking the gauge is not telling me the truth.

Timing and boost effect EGT as well. If you have a short ram or other hot air intake, your car will be running less timing during hotter weather. Less timing=hotter EGT. If the car is detonating and reducing timing it will also have a higher EGT.

Installing mine now after buying it a while ago. LOL. hand to change out my header so need a new probe too. Anyway, my wires are kind of old for my Defi link meter gauges and when I cut back the metal braids I have fiberglass and looks like bare wires in them. At the end before the connector end I have red and white wire sheeting.

How did you determine which wire is what and what's the easiest way to connect this up?

Bumping again, as the one I ordered 10 years ago finally bit the dust, so I ordered another.

Was looking around the net for a replacement for my EGT probe. Damn thing lasted me nearly 20 years. I was quite pleased to find an option almost $200 cheaper than the defi replacement.
