![]() I remember a dealer many years ago that bought up every prime air cooled Porsche turbo and then tried to sell them at 2X market rate. Everyone laughed. Those prices would be a smoking deal today.
If you have a ton of liquid cash, love cars, and think you know which way the market is going it’s a great way to enjoy your investments.

![]() Looks like the 2014 silver sti with 15k miles is being used on Craigslist as a scam

![]() Either that or the 50k sale listing was BS
you should contact the seller and say you are local and want to come by and see it You'll find out in 2 seconds if it's a scam by the response you get |

![]() MS Classic Cars LLC is not a scam seller, they list and sell tons of high end vehicles on BAT https://bringatrailer.com/member/msclassiccarsllc/
And the buyer bmercer is not a bot, he's purchased plenty from BAT https://bringatrailer.com/member/bmercer/ Bmercer won this bike https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...50-scrambler-2 and then the buyer backed out and in the comments section you can see him post "bmercer All - beware of this seller @dottore is trying to back out of the deal, saying that there was a reserve and the bike is no longer available." Don't understand why people are so dense just because they can't afford to pay the same prices as a millionaire for an sti |

And actually I could afford to spend $50k for an STI if I wanted to, so no need to be bitter just because you can't and pretend like the only reason not to do that is because somebody doesn't have the money. People don't do that because it makes no sense. Again, it was pumped off an assembly line 6 years ago, the story is moronic. I guess he either hit the lotto 2 years ago or he didn't even want the car in 2014 when it could be had for $35k brand new at any dealer on earth????? |

![]() Definitely. If you're a rich guy who loves cars there's money to be made. I knew a bay area guy that bought up a bunch of 1980-90 super cars (e.g., Ferrari F40s, 288 GTOs, etc) back in the 1990s. He just loved cars. I should have bought a 965 slantnose 911. They were dirt cheap in the past.

![]() If you're a multi-millionaire, you probably have got that way because you're not spending $50k on a $20k car.

![]() Most wealthy people I know are wealthy because they work hard and either earn a ****load of money or entered the corporate world at the VP level because of family connections.
Being stingy makes you a "millionaire" in name only. |

(1) $50,000 for a Subaru that you had a picture of on your wall when you were a kid, or (2) $20,000 for an ugly green Rolex Sub. https://davidsw.com/shop/watch/rolex...bmariner-41-3/ Yeah, there's a huge amount of people that would buy either without thinking twice. |

The same day he bought that 50k sti he bought a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 Tri-Power 4-Speed for 75,500. In one day he spent what most dream of making in a year. And look at his purchase history, every few weeks he drops tens of thousands of dollars on random toys. He even bought a 25,000$ go cart https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...he-936-junior/ which I imagine is for his kid |

Kim Kardashian bought a gold toilet If only you said that in post #3 we wouldn't have bothered pointing out how idiotic a 50k 6 year old car is. (I wonder if he still has that poster hanging in his bedroom from 2014?) |

"Hi, the car is still available for $17,000. It has 15,581 miles, clean title in hand, no accidents and no liens, 2 keys, never smoked in, garage kept, selling it only to put a down payment on a new house. I have left the car with a broker with all the paperwork (title signed by me, keys) since I am currently in Montreal, Canada with my new work contract as a pilot for First Air. Let me know if you are interested so I can put you in contact with them so you can inspect it, they have full Power of Attorney to sell it on my behalf." Seems legit. |

call his bluff and get in contact with the brokers just to see if they have an excuse not to let you see it in person |

Maybe you should start back at the top. Most people have been saying everything in this thread sounds fishy as hell. You're the one who emailed the guy and so far he told you you could see it in person. If you aren't going to push him until the scam comes to light then what was the point? boy oh boy, this coming from the dude who's been going on and on bragging about some OTHER guys car purchases when all you ACTUALLY know is: 1) he's got a screen name on a site 2) there are thumbnails of cars he bought with prices Yep, that couldn't possibly be fake. Sergey Brin, Larry Page and Zuckerberg all put together couldn't figure out how to pull some pics from the internet and stick a nice dollar amount font in bright green next to them and lay them out under a screen name. That would be breaking internet honesty laws. |

![]() GD's have gone WAY up in value in good condition....Hagerty is just one example of a source confirming that they are approaching what they cost when they were new, if low miles no accidents 1 or 2 owner and original drivetrain with 1 or 2 mods. 25-35,000 now.
