Post "Integra" RS-X article at autoweek.com

In the lower right hand corner, there is something called "Goodbye Integra, Hello RS-X" that was posted yesterday. It looks like the new "Integra" is going to have a 200 HP i-VTEC engine. There's some other info about it. Enjoy.

It will be FWD, which was confirmed a few months ago. the RS-X has a different design than the Integra that will be sold in Japan. Also, i have been looking around the web for the past year on info for this car, and I've been finding 220hp in the 'standard' models bumped up to 250 in the Type-R. A spokesman for Honda's engine development team said that the block with stock internals is capable of producing 280hp without a hitch naturally aspirated. I found all this information in various articles at http://www.vtec.net/ , mostly in the news section.

I've also read that the car is going to cost around $18k, but I find that extremely hard to believe.
Even if they sell the car for the current price of the GS-R, it'll be a pretty good value if it's packing 220ps. Then Toyota would have to do something drastic if they wanna continue to sell the GT-S.

Remember that the Integra is based on the Civic platform. FWD.

Now that the Civic is using Mac struts up front, the Integra will as well.

Power, will be interesting to see Whatever it turns out to be, Honda will make sure that it does not threaten to steal any thunder from the S2000.

Thumbs up

It may or may not be based on the Civic, this time. I think that's debatable.

Here are a couple of pics that've been tossed around the Rumors board on www.Honda-Acura.net :

And the one that's been called the RS-X :

I think that both of those designs are a bit wild. The RS-X is a concept car that's going to be shown at Detroit. This reminds me of back before the first Acura CL came out they first showed a concept called the CL-X that had a much wilder design than the actual production model. That top picture should be a decent indication of what it's going to look like. Only thing is I've never seen a Honda with a cowl that high. As for power, it's pretty much confirmed that the engine is going to be a 220 hp version of the engine in the S2000, and rotated around for use in a FWD platform. We're only supposed to get one version of the car, which is equivalent to the jap-spec Type Rx. Basically, take a Type R and add all the luxo stuff you get in the GSR, and you got a Type Rx. Who knows, what they'll call it here, but that's what we're going to get. I still think that it's gonna look more like this:

Unhappy

What's with the Camaro-like front overhang? Looks like it'll eat driveways, but I guess many Honda cars are like that.

Agreed, greenguy, and Mike, that's the third pic I was going to post. I'm at work, I had to go so I just did those two.

I agree, it'll probably look more like your pic. Which is unfortunate--it looks exactly the same as the current one, excepting the Celica headlights.
