Those horns look hella awesome. And is it easier to dip the rims on the car or take em all off?

Looks like the you need another one or two coats of orange. The black is still bleeding through, particularly on the driver's door.

Well yeah, we ran out of plastidip whilst doing this. We should have put down 2 more thick coats at least.

jerseytiger...that orange looks pretty sweet! I have only seen the black white and red plasti dips over here. I am going to have to do some searching for the orange.

That's not my car, I was just quoting the original post. Plasti-dip isn't my thing, though IMO it would have looked a bit better if there were a couple more coats to cover the black. Also not a fan of two tone, particular with glossy and matte finishes. Would have looked a bit better IMO if they did the entire car, or did the black section with black plasti-dip. It is an interesting product so I enjoy seeing what people come up with. And since its not permanent different combos and techniques can be attempted, which is really cool.

Not trying to hurt more feelings or instigate a debate but, why wouldn't you guys just use real paint or vinyl for this? This is coming from a person who loves the temporary material too.

The good thing if you're doing vinyl on your whole car is that you don't have to deal with spray variables, and you can take your time w/o taping off anything and make sure its right, plus all you need is a hair dryer or heat gun. Even paint isn't permanent though you can always sand lightly and respray! (here i'm mostly referring to painting smaller ext accent items like wheels, bumpers, roofs, spats etc). Now don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE proponent of plasti dip for the interior parts because they're not exposed to the elements! Anyway don't want to hate on the thread I love seeing new things and colors but just curious of the material qualities and uses in this case. Dip on, young jedis!! |

@tanktheory, I saw a nice rustoleum flat white primer you might be interested in when I was spraying my bike... I went with a flat black but there was a nice flat white too you might want to take a look at.

Finished the rims today and installed the hella horns, and hood scoop. The horns stand out much more than i thought, and a lot more in the day time.
iPhone took it blurry, ill update it tomorrow with more light |

I just plasti dipped over the vinyl windshield decal. It was black but had some text on it. Called too much attention. Came out pretty good. Ill post pics tomorrow.
Then I hooked up my homie's 2012 civic with blacked out badges. It came out so clean. TIP!! Buy one of the clip-on hand sprayers by Rustoleum. Really makes spraying Plasti dip easier and comes out nicer. |

Did a portion of my front bumper STi style and numerous trim pieces in my interior. Need to redo many of the interior pieces haha.

The center part under the grill is painted on the WRXs the same color as the rest of the car. I dipped it black like the STi's come stock.
