Go for it. I replaced mine after i bought my sti second hand along with some other interior covers and they where $$$ from the dealership and now i'm still stuck with the old ones that are only lightly scratched. Looking at it afterwards i should have just painted them... i replaced like 7 plastic pieces/covers in total and it wasn't cheap.

Even if you don't like it after painting/dipping you can still get new ones and the cost of paint is negligible.

No they don't.
It's because it's been repainted at some point and whoever did it didn't paint it black.
Plus from factory it's more of a cover than paint, you can feel it. I don't know how to explain it, but it seems like it's a separate piece even though it isn't (or at least it's not removable.)

Anyways, well do the interior pieces you plasti-dipped match up to the stock dash? I'm planning on re-doing some of my interior this winter and black pillars are on my list.

My wheels and center console trim on my 05. For anyone on the fence about doing this, just go for it. Removing the center console trim couldn't be any easier. Wheels were cake too.

I'll be getting a new head unit soon as well as the mad tyte JDM y0 hazard button.

One can did this surround, trim piece on inner doors, and the hatch cover. Added a vinyl pinstripe along the dash trim too, lmk if you want pics.

Pulled it off the rear cover just to see how easy it came off..... and how easily it catches fire. Careful what you dip everyone, this stuff lights up like a fuse!

I don't think it would scratch... Maybe peel up if hit or rubbed hard enough.

Never even noticed that haha. The interior pieces match up pretty good with it, better than I expected. The oh **** handles have a hard time keeping the dip on them so I'm going to do something better with those when I have the time.

Provides some scratch protection. Stretches enough to survive minor scratches. But it's still elastic so cuts go right through.

I never realized how different front end is between xv and '12 impreza. Different grille and fogs. Damn I like those better. Nice job on the plasti dip too. Did you remove the chrome parts or leave it on?
