hehe...read the thread. I got it in Japan in exchange for some 22B wheels after I was parting out a friend's 22B. I get parts in Japan for a living, but that particular hood is a one of a kind. Its a prototype WRC hood before they started producing the aluminum ones. One of my suppliers, the guy from whom I got the hood and bumper, has some WRC connections. In all likelihood, he got himself another hood and bumper after he gave them to me for the wheels.

I know there are some manufacturers that make a WRC hood copy, such as AVIS.

Default First Dyno Run

I'm stuck here on a base in New Mexico for work, but i check my posts everytime I come back from the field. It helps liven the day. Anyway...Here's a shot of my dyno runs. I was told at Harman that it was a relatively mild tune. I was having trouble with my equal length manifold leaking at the expansion joints, and he was weary to run the car too much timing. He didn't really like the wiring job. When he picked up the carpet to get to the PowerFC there were wires everywhere and exposed joints, unconnected wires, etc. He said I could come back and get a better tune when all the wiring was cleaned up.

Here is what I ran at:

Without Methanol:
MAX WHEEL HP: 245
MAX WHEEL TORQUE: 259

With Methanol
MAX WHEEL HP: 270
MAX WHEEL TORQUE: 303

Now that my wiring has been cleaned up and that I have replaced my exhaust manifold, I think I'm ready for a new tune. As soon as all this paint and body work is finished, this is next on the list. I want to run a bit more boost, and a bit more advanced timing.

hmm that british company www.HT-Autos.co.uk sells 22B fiberglass replica kits based on the actual 22b... maybe you could create a metal kit based upon their fiberglass widebody? I don't think you could get the original molds

I think I saw the titanium STI fender badge sold on www.Japanparts.com but a few years ago

I have a set of WRC panels that came in on tuesday. My dad picked them up from the warehouse for me. I'm going to be basing my custom widebody on them. After he's done with them, I am considering making a scan of them and making a small run. I'm not sure if its financially feasible yet.

I'll check out Japanparts for the emblems. I'm usually only able to get used parts from Japan myself, so a new set will be nice.

The car is hot as hell. I can see what you're saying about the sharp edges on the wide bodied panels. It kind of looks like he modified some stock wrx panels to fit the GC body.

That would have been a much cheaper and quicker method if that's what I wanted. I think its just his style though. He did that widebodied NSX that's next to mine. I was just hoping he woulda done what I asked from the beginning with the 100+ pics I gave him of every angle instead of just taking things in his own direction.

Yeah...its multicultural for now. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

Updates: My dad picked up the panels that arrived and sent me a couple pics to show that everything came in ok.

The guy that is doing it has done a lot of work for JIC. He does quality work, but it has been very frustrating. His vision and my own don't seem to match. I told him "22B!" and "WRC", but the results have been far from the smooth, rounded contours of the WRC look I've been going for. Instead, I have gotten agressive sharp lines, like these:

Unlike some, who have pulled out stock bumpers to meet with Do-Luck fenders, i have pushed in my widebody bumper to meet the bottom of my fenders, which don't come out as far as the top of the fenders...ugly eh?

Here's more of what I had in mind for the front (photoshopped):

In my frustration, I procured some WRC panels on loan from England and am just going to say "here! copy this!" Shouldn't be too hard, right? They arrived on tuesday, and the car is being dropped off today. Unfortunately, I got shipped off to New Mexico for work until the 8th, so I'm going to have to rely on my dad to relay what I want correctly.

i would say that the fenders would be alright if that sharp line of the widebody section met up with the top of the fender; yes it would be a hard edge still, but it wouldnt create a body line that sucks.

Its a good thing that uve got those widebody panels as that is a terrible go at those wide body fenders thus far...

but great project idea thus far..
