thing is buying it back, then paying to fix it will end up costing me more than the check is for, and put more money into it I really can't afford.

Struts were dead anyway. I was planning on doing the koni inserts or something else.

Right now we're in a holding pattern. I have disputed the amount they want to pay for the car as I feel it's not adequate based upon what I have seen others going for.

so.... until I get everything settled I'm stuck driving a rental. A chevy HHR.

I need to get everything settled because this HHR just isn't going to do for long. Last night TiC Jr. started taking apart the interior while sitting in his car seat, and holding up each part and asking "Daddy, what is this for?"

I had an HHR when on business in Ohio. One of the worst vehicles I have ever driven ... hell I'd put a PT Cruiser above that in quality.

UPDATE!!

Resolution with the insurance company. They did some more research, and reached a conclusion that I am happy with. It will allow me to keep the red car for spare parts, and get a new SVX that I know of.

Replacement is a black on white 92 LSi.

Now to go in search of one 05-07 BBS wheel to replace the dead one...

It's sitting out back. Tranny slips. I'm going to try and get it in today to drop the pan, change the filter, replace the fluid, and adjust the brake band. We'll try that first. If that's not go I will swap the tranny over from the red car.

then I need to swap over my engine wiring, put in the good alternator, and figure out what's up with the sunroof.

Cool. I suppose the red one will hang around the shop for a while? I may want to buy a driver side seat off ya, that is if you have good one in both.

Good luck swapping stuff out. How late you gonna be there today? I may stop by and chat with ya about the bearings and a thermostat for mine. I found my power steering hose goes to the radiator?? I'm gonna tackle the PS pump myself, due to it not likeing to run without growling at me

edit: my sunroof didn't wanna work, till I shoved up real hard on it, and broke the seal it made from sitting so long. Put some silicone spray around the seals, and it works good now.

I just got back from driving my SVX in to work today. I was reading this thread earlier and it inspired me to get out again.

It was a fun drive in.

The sunroof sticking is a common svx issue, requiring a nudge to get it moving. The solution to fix it: near the dome light there is a little cap covering a screw. Remove the cap and you can turn it to tighten something (I forgot what it's called) so that the motor can properly pull the sun roof open.
