Thanks Miggs. I'm diggin it so far. I'm still calling it "operation ricer" however!

Let's see how it feels at speeds too high for me to discuss here!

I just had it installed a few days ago, but I'll be driving the car again in about a week, I'm out of the country again. So I hope to put it through its paces on the open road when I get back. I realized that it has an adjustable angle on it that I was not aware of when purchased.

Thank God the plumbing and electrics work perfectly, I was a little nervous about that not getting sorted out properly. I'd hate to have had an issue spraying down my rear windshield or worse yet, my rear brake light not functioning.

Sorry, I don't do that. Not my style.

I mean to say that I do have photos that I take along the way that document the build and metamorphosis of the car, but they are for personal consumption and for records sake...I don't post anything.

You must be lost. This is the picture thread, homie. Why build a car and not want to share it? People are going to see it on the road, no?

Hey Ben,

I'll try my best to answer your questions honestly and frankly.

I wander but I'm definitely not lost.

I'm all too well aware this is a picture thread, but it's the only thread that is completely specific to the model year and car that I drive. I'm comfortable here talking about the models and model years in this thread...it's what I know pretty well. Again, it's a lazy comfort zone for me. I was contemplating starting a thread like this that was not a photo thread but I haven't done it yet, it was to be a mechanical mod thread, not a gratuitous photo thread. Look back a few pages you'll likely find the discussion.

I build a car for me (no one else)as a project, something to take my mind off of other things; it's fun and I like to go fast....real effin' fast, yo!

Why not share it? Because my car is really not that important or pretentious enough that it needs a flicker account with 23 jerk off pages of it a every angle. It's just another cool looking fast STi, nothing special. I know exactly what It looks like and I like it. I'm not so weak as to where I covet and need validation from others, although it is nice to get sometimes....especially at meets.

Which brings me to your last question...

Yes, people are definitely going to see it on the road and at meets, I obviously cannot control that. But, I can control blasting it out all over the internet. Especially showing my license plate number - a totally foolish and naive move, but that's another rant!

I think that about covers it. Let me know if you still have any questions Ben.

Be well and best from Rio de Janeiro!

Damn, that's exactly how I feel about my car. Sometimes build threads are nice for inspiration or to give you ideas on what you'd like to do to your own car, but a lot of people do that already. I love my car, but I also don't feel a need to post every new thing about it. I'm one of hundreds of thousands of white Sti sedans trying to differentiate themselves on the road lol. If I get a compliment, cool, but I'll never seek compliments; I make my car the way I do for myself, so the only person that needs to like it is me. I'm glad someone else feels the same.

I have always been about making the car mine, and not for anything else. But if someone wants to see a picture, or im curious what you guys all think of it, bc we all like the same stuff why not. I see no big deal. I dont see pictures popping up in here all the time. Also, you drive and everyone sees your plate, so who cares. I have nothing to hide.

I don't think it's a big deal. If people really wanted to get your information they could get it - unless your using Tor or something, so covering a license plate isn't going to do much.

But that's the whole point of this thread and forum! To share your mods and experiences with others. You're not being pretentious by posting pictures of your car lol. That's literally what we are here to see. To each his own, I suppose.

Please rant on why it is foolish/naive, I'm curious what your thinking is.

I don't post pics of my cars for other people to compliment me (couldn't care any less), I post them because I like to share them with people who enjoy them. It's fun to share things I am passionate about with others of the same condition.

That said, there is a line somewhere and many tend to cross it. Usually indicated by low quality and high quantity pics of all show and no go several year old, generally ugly and poorly done, used cars...

If anything it's fun to tease. If I had more pictures of my car, I'd post them. I don't spend a lot of time doing glamour shots.

License plates are kinda funny to me. Random people can't just go look up plate numbers. If you're going to get Doxxed, it won't be through your plates. I actually had a photographer once obscure my plates in their photos, I asked them to not do that and they posted up clean versions. They were cool.

C'mon Silas, I'm in Rio trying to record and have some fun....don't get me ranting! It ruins the entire laid back brasilero mood!

Well then Ben, I guess we got ourselves a good old fashioned conundrum.

Be well guys, I've got some Caipirinhas to attend to!

Might as well add my bit to get photo thread on track. I do agree to a certain extent Tri's point of view. But I do like sharing the work that I do as it does take a lot of time and effort and people in the community do love seeing cars. I could care less what others think of my build, that is not my reasoning for being here.
