I find the CC pacing feature to be slightly annoying when I want to continue cruising at speed and the person riding in the passing lane is going well under a reasonable pace, but, as stated, just cancel cruise and guilt those folks into submission back to the driving lane where they belong.

Full disclaimer; I keep the lane departure feature turned off at all times, that was just a bit much, especially on the secondary roads. I do well to stay within my lane (beneficial habit from my days on motorcycles), but, even as you get close, lane departure could become nagging...

I have high hopes for the 2020 Leggy; 2.4 DIT and a trim package anywhere close to this rendering and I'm in.

The OBXT does stir some intrigue though....
Subaru checked all my necessary boxes; and now we wait...

I'm most interested in full model details, pricing, and a test drive. I'm expecting quite a difference out of the global platform when compared to my current Legacy and excited for the 2.4 turbo. Our Ascent is fairly spry for it's size and it feels more planted/stable than my current Legacy on the same roads and the 2.4 has proven to be stout little engine even while carrying all that extra weight over what the Legacy will be.

I'll likely test drive early but wait until Spring 2020 to purchase.

I am happy Subaru is committed to the market. There is still a strong market of folks out there that don't necessarily need utility that exceeds that of a sedan. If I need cargo space or towing capability I'll take the Ascent and my wife will take the Legacy. But in my daily travels, I am perfectly content with all that an AWD sedan offers in Central PA.

I have a '17 Impreza on the SGP and it's night and day better than the gen before.

I'll be buying something at the end of the year, last weeked of the calendar (Dec 28/29). I won't discount the Legacy, because I always fall back to familiar (Subaru), but I'm thinking ATS/V (maybe slightly used), Volvo V60 RDesign with Polestar, or a left over '18 Quadrifoglio (if they settle for a winter lowball, some can already be had for $60k-ish right now, another $5+k). If none of the three will work end of year deals, I know Subaru will and may end up in the Legacy. That said, Doll mentioned yet again, there's going to be more announcements as the year progresses.

I'd be curious if they can disable some of those functions when the car is moving?

Eyesight is standard for that hot mess distraction.

I like it but I would not buy the car on that alone. It has many other positive points mainly the 2.4 and the SGP. That said I wonder how much that HU would cost out of warranty if it shoots craps?

The UI on that thing is god awful. The font terrible.

These come with distracted driver tech, right? So when you’re fumbling with the touchscreen to change the HVAC controls, it can remind you to keep your eyes on the road

Wonder how bright this thing is at night?

I think it's just driver fatigue that it detects, not when you look away. You can look away as that's what some would do to change lanes or glance over.

I like the HU. Extra big. Extra chunky. Drake-approved.

Voice command the danged HVAC!!!! Or if you've done it right, you won't have to mess with it much anyway......

Brightness is adjustable. As it has been for, like, forever!

Look away and it will bug you. Kinda annoying. But, eh, don't look away when you should be driving. Right?

I feel like people complaining about HVAC controls have not driven a recent Subaru? I rarely ever touch the HVAC controls in my 2018 WRX. Just leave it at 68, full auto. The only thing I ever do is turn the temp up or down a degree or two. I probably go weeks without touching anything. Turn on the defroster on icy/snowy days, but that's before I start driving. It's even pretty good at turning on the defogger when necessary. Not sure if the WRX has a humidity sensor, but I think maybe it does because it definitely turns the defogger on sometimes. I used to be an ardent supporter of non-touch screen HVAC, but I'm a believer in the full auto.

My Outback can use the voice commands to adjust but we never use it. Mostly because it's not necessary, but I guess it's there as an option.

edit: forgot my wish is that they made a super premium Legacy, like a Subaru version of the 6 cylinder 5 series. Will never happen, with how sedan sales are these days, but I can dream.
