I've purchased two cars from Planet Subaru and had an awesome experience both time. One was a used explorer and the other a new wrx. The purchases were 10 years apart and I couldn't be happier with how the process went both times. My only half assed complaint would be the puppies in the showroom...just an unfair advantage...

You must have some idea how "they" missed it right? I mean you missed it yourself didn't you? Or maybe you just crashed on the way home.

edit: Just found my invoice, I wanted to get exact numbers. After the $400 deduction was taken off for the damage we spotted, I was then charged a $288 "documentary preparation fee". Thanks, guys.
To this day no one will ever know how you could have possibly missed the "document and prep fee" that's literally listed in size 24 font on every vehicle page. Not to mention every dealer in the US has one.

Stick to hockey and please never leave Canada again.

Ah a canada / hockey joke, very clever! Haven't heard one of those before!

Well Sweavin Lanes I'm not sure why you brought up a 6 year old thread just to attack me. You sound quite upset as though you took my post pretty personally. By any chance are you the sales person I dealt with who, by the way, also refused to honor the arrangement we had made over the phone to lend me a set of dealership plates so I could legally drive back to Canada? Let me tell you that I had one HELL of a time trying to get a trip permit from the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario for a vehicle that wasn't yet registered in Canada. It was through sheer luck that I ended up not having to shell out another $1k to $2k to get the car shipped home. That whole situation was incredibly frustrating which is probably why the document fee I failed to notice was so infuriating at the time. After everything that had happened it basically just felt like they were kicking me while I was down at that point.

Also, if you will re-read my original post I clearly mentioned that I did catch some of the damage, hence the whole 'asking for compensation...getting upset about the paper fee' thing. As for the tire damage, again if you read my original post more carefully I also clearly mentioned that it was not the sort of damage that could have been caused by negligent driving. There was a chunk literally missing out of the tire right where it meets the rim. Not sure how you think I could have caused that by driving the car. You are completely right though, I should have caught *all* of the damage, especially considering that I was with a mechanic friend. I guess I just wasn't expecting to have to inspect a brand new set of tires so closely, or trace the entire trunk line for signs of misalignment. Lessons learned for next time

Anyways, since it seems like my post truly offended you, in true Canadian spirit I will gladly offer you an apology

Don't be so sensitive that wasn't an attack, and I have no association with the dealership other then the cars I've bought. I stumbled on your post while leaving my own review and decided to pick on you cause cause you seemed like the biggest whiner of the lot.

Nothing personal I like Canadiens, we wouldn't have a Bruins team without them. Cheers mate

Overall good experience buying my 2017 Forester from Planet Subaru. Custom ordered it completely through email. Once it arrived we spent about 4.5 hours at the dealership picking it up, signing paperwork, etc. To be fair, about 2 hours of this was waiting insurance to send over the binder. The processes took longer than I would have liked but everyone there was very friendly and helpful, especially Ryan.

Another 2017 Forester purchase at Planet Subaru. Worked with Ryan via PM and email, car was ready for a test drive and purchased same day. Decent price and minimal BS from all staff that I worked with.

I just got a used 2017 Legacy Limited at Planet with Ryan. I started on PM with Ryan when we were first looking at cars and the wife wasn't sure what she wanted. But she's very particular with colors (no white, black, gray, silver) so we went between used and new Crosstrek and Impreza and at first were thinking manual for my son but settled on CVT. Finally, the wife liked a used Legacy....which is nice because of the cars in the Subaru lineup, these seem to depreciate the most, so getting something a year old made actual financial sense. Very low key and easy on the trade with a good trade in number and the overall deal was easy. Brought the car home yesterday and am quite happy with it, finding things I didn't know was in the car. My son found that the back seats are heated and have separate HVAC vents (which I had no clue about). I would recommend them for a new car. They're maybe an hour 15 from my house. I've purchased from Village and Metrowest in the past, both of which were good. This is our 8th Subaru.
