Default WRX stock turbo, how long will it last?

I did a few searches but came up with nothing, I know this must have been covered. Anyway what is the life expectancy of a stock WRX turbo on a totally stock WRX?

Also wouldn't it eventually be a good idea to get a new intercooler? After the fins have been abused by bugs and debree for 5 or 6 years I would imagine it would.

There's no real reason the turbo shouldn't last 100,000+ miles. In other words for the life of the car in most cases.

And a screen that keep the debris out of the intercooler is a good idea. And pretty easy to do. Mine has kept my intercooler clean and perfect for 18 months.

I've got 244+ thousand on my 1985 Saab Turbo. With technology advances since then I expect to NEVER replace a WRX turbo.

Original turbo, 3rd transmission, can't win 'em all
