I had these headers on MY05 WRX for about a year before I sold the car, I liked it for the price. it did touch the filter, at first I dented the filter, then I did an oil change and re-dented the next filter but not enough and it rubbed a pin hole in the filter. I had to swap it out in a massive rain downpour lol. then the filter I replaced it with got yet another pin hole in it less than 100 miles. So after that I just heated the header with a torch and beat the crap out of it until there was enough clearance to never have to worry about it again. if I ever had to do it again, I would just spend a little more and get HKS ELH.

you can see our header was touching the OEM filter they told us to use. i would never run it this way.

Not quite apples to apples, but I've been running CNT UEL headers on my 13 frs; not coated or wrapped, there's a good amount of discoloration but they're running strong. I'm in VT and daily the car through snow and salt. 30,000 miles on them, no issues. I've had CNT exhaust on a bugeye as well; no issues

Sorry to bump this old thread, but i'm thinking about purchasing a set of CNT headers for my 13 WRX.

From the looks of it, it seems like the only issue with these headers are the fitment, and they only seem to be on the Blobeye/hawkeye wrx's?

Can anyone confirm that? Or does anyone with an 11+ WRX have these and have fitment issues?

Just installed a set of CNT headers for my 2009 wrx. Fitment was spot-on with plenty of clearance for the oil filter.

Can you post pics of the clearance?

Also, do you have the v2 or v3?

Thanks

Might not be a great comparison to others. The 2009 WRX came from the factory with one of three different oil cooler options from the factory, or none at all. Some of the coolers significantly change the oil filter location compared to other model years and especially the STi.

if im not mistaken 08-14 wrx have no oil cooler at all. v2 cnt will not fit with factory oil coolers. be it the straight one or angled. They may have fixed it with the latest revision but IDK.

09 is the worst with one of 4 possibilities (angled, offset, STi or none), after that it's typically the same part number as the STi. It's almost as if Subaru ran out of a specific part number and kept using up whatever they had until they ran out,

Default V3 Cnt

My v3 cnt el header will be in later this week for my 06 wrx wagon. Curious about what Iíll be needing to make my existing oil cooler fitment work with these headers. Some say use sti cooler and filter bolt. Iíve heard about using what is already there by eliminating the angled plate adapter and modifying my oil cooler lines to fit (preferred if possible).

Anyone have any experience in my situation? Thanks fellas
