Default Fuel on floor inside passenger compartment

My wife just purchased a 2008 Impreza from the rust belt. There is fuel getting on the floor boards on the driver side and don't know where it is coming from.
Are there any suggestions out there?

Pull out the back seat and look at the seal for the fuel pump. Probably not seated right when someone replaced it.

If itís happening when tank is just filled.. this is likely the problem.

The back seat is really easy to pull. There are a couple of bolts coming down on the front of the foot well. Unscrew those and lift up. There are hooks that unhook as you lift.

My 04 has the fuel lines routed thru the car under the trim along the door. Is it in the rear or the front? Either way the tank wouldn’t leak enough to make
It’s way into the cabin. I’d pull some trim, pull back the carpet and start looking for a damaged line inside.

my 2010 STi had fuel entering the cabin from under the rear seats due to a fuel sending unit gasket that went bad.

Could be a possibility, it was an easy fix
