Hey guys, I'm gonna give my Daily driver a Shot. Note: All hand wrenched and tuned.
1997 Brighton with an EJ18...Turbo. About three years ago I bought my car, Completely and 100% stock, Since then its gone through a few changes... And like most teenagers, I use my car, so it has a little wear and tear. For Those of you that have ever owned a slow Subaru, especially one with an ej18. Im sure you can agree that if it was faster it would be way more fun to drive. And like many others, I did countless hours of research on the best options for giving my car a little more juice. And decided to take a leap of faith and Boost it myself... I ended up way over my head. Heres my current parts list. First Engine: EJ18T TDO4 440cc injectors EJ22 Intake manifold Wrx intercooler Ej22 heads with 5 angle grind Ej18 cams and roller rockers Wrx water pump Second Engine: Ej205 block Mahle 92.5mm pistons K1 Technologies Hbeam Rods New WRX crank ACL Main bearings King Rod Bearings ARP Head Studs STi 11mm oil pump Custom Oil Catch can STi yellow top injectors Wrx Heads Catless up pipe ACT stage 2 Clutch ACT Streetlite flywheel WRX header 2.5inch up pipe 3 inch turbo back Suspension: BC Racing BR type coilovers 04 STi front crossmember H&R Camber Bolts Electrical: 034EFI Ic Full standalone engine management Fully Custom wiring harness AEM intake air temp sensor AEM Wideband O2 sensor Exterior: 17x8 Flik Phoenix Rims Rally Flaps 2.5RS Hood Interior: WRX Seats AEM Air/fuel gauge AEM Boost Gauge Sorry For the bad color editing on these, this is all I could find It may not be "Hellaflush" or a total track monster, but its one car that does everything I need it to, the real point of owning a Subaru.

Hello - My name is Cory - From West Chicago/Carol Stream Area....
Here is my Story and Submission for Top Midwest Scooby!! I come from a long line of past Subaru ownership throughout my life, My first personal Subaru was a 89 GL hatchback, Then 95 Legacy, To a 98 RS coupe, Which lead me into purchasing my 2008 STI hatchback in August of 2008. The Hatchback was not my style when i saw it release, but it quickly grew on me and with life changing as i was starting my Sign/Printing Company at the time, the hatchback come into consideration for the utility factor as well as a fun toy. The GR Release was still a new scene thru-out 2008. What makes this car so dear to my heart, is only after months of owning it, I was looking for a gauge pod of sorts and i found that even almost a year after its release, no companies were stepping up with ideas or products for pods, so I started designing my own prototypes and come spring 2008, I had alot of attention to my project ( I didnt plan to sell it, it was for myself ), People asking me left and right where they can purchase the Dual Vent Pod Setup I designed. So in terms, my STI helped me create another business and be the First official company to release a gauge pod setup for these cars. We've now sold hundreds of these all over the world, Its an amazing feeling to feel the demand 50,000 miles away over seas for my product i designed and created. My STI helped my created Monkey Bone Racing The car is a Daily driver, as I drive all over weekly for deliveries and client meetings etc, Including yearly road trips to the East Coast in state of PA that is my hometown. The looks, feel and sounds of this car are a reflection of my personality. It was never tracked but id like to get into that at some point in the futrure, it was down the 1/4 mile a few times, but mainly built for aggressive street driving and cruising for reliability! Hello Everyone,
I am the original owner of this 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport and live in Plainfield, IL. The first 5 to 6 years of its life it had pretty easy - low miles and barely driven. Then, we had kids and my SUV was traded for a minivan and I got the OBS. Since assuming it as my daily driver this car sees quite a bit of use but still keeps going. I've not done a lot to it like some of the other entries here as I still have a list of modifications I plan to make, but its unique nonetheless and deserves consideration. Well here goes nothing... My name is Brian. Im stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. Serving in the US Army. While deployed I knew that I wanted to get a new car. The search was on! I really knew nothing about Subaru's but the new wide body for the 2011 WRX SOLD ME! I wanted the base model 5 Door in really any color. At the time I couldn't find on in WA to save the life of me. I found one in VA and put down a deposit while I was still in Afghanistan. After getting back home to the USA I went on leave to NC and then drove north to VA with my mom to pick up my new car. I would say it was the best day of my life to pick up my very own BRAND NEW WRX! This is my first Subaru. I bought this car in July 2011 off the lot with 9 miles on the speedo. Shortly after I learned of the site NASIOC.com. It changed everything. It started the MOD BUG for me... I will let the 5 pictures tell the story of the progress the car. I have done all of the work myself with the excepting of Tuning.
Recently attended my first AutoX Event! SCCA Event 1. Here are the results. I bought my car at Carter Subaru in December of 2003. My Acura Integra had recently been broken into and there were some other issues with it. I'd just started a new job so I figured I'd go buy a new car. I knew really nothing about cars. I ended up at the Subaru dealer looking at a silver 2002. I went back a week later and they'd sold it. The salesman tried to sell me on a blue one -- I'd gotten to the point of financing but I couldn't get past the fact it was blue. The conversation literally ended with.. "but it's blue!". They asked me what color I wanted.. I said black, white or silver.. and I ended up with java black pearl.
The first year or so I spent just learning about the car.. and it was during this time I met members of Team Intrinsic -- Armin, Russell and Tex. While my car wasn't near show quality at that point, they started providing guidance for what would become a very expensive hobby. After that first year and the next year, while the car was still daily driver status, I did very basic modifications -- wheels, a subtle (still catted) exhaust, springs, a head unit and a couple other little things. Then in 2006, all of that changed. First in February, I upgraded to an 18g turbo with all the supporting mods. In September, 2 weeks before Hot Import Nights, I procured the body kit I'd always wanted, INGS+1. I picked the car up from the paint shop the night before HIN and spent the morning of HIN trying to burn off gas so I could actually be in the show. In November, I got a set of near-unicorn seats, out of a Prodrive P1. My car was no longer a daily driver. 2007 marked another significant leap forward. I was able to put on coilovers, get the wheels I'd wanted since my first trip to Canada, upgrade to a big brake kit and finish off my Prodrive interior. All this resulted in my first trophy -- 2nd place Subaru at Battle of the Imports. In 2008, I filled what I considered the final major hole in my build. Thanks to the support of Memphis Car Audio and the outstanding craftsmanship of Audio Integrations, I was able to have a stereo system that matched the quality of the rest of my car. I picked the car up on the way to Import Motion in Oregon and that weekend, took home first place trophies for both Subaru and 4-Door class. The year culiminated with a feature spot in Memphis Car Audio's booth at Hot Import Nights as well as the award for Hottest Mild Subaru. The last couple of years the car has stayed pretty much the same, save for the SYMS grille, Kaminari hood, Velocity Carbon trunk and (I think I had the last show car without a screen), Alpine double-din head unit. I've been proud that despite the increase in high-quality Subaru builds in the area, my car has managed to take home trophies for 5 years running without any major rebuilds. I've kept my car the way I've wanted it and it still manages to draw people in at shows. Meet Erebus, (The Greek God of Darkness and Shadow, Son of Chaos) I bought this car brand new in June of 2005 which led me into an obsession with all things Subaru. Every modification has been done by me, with the exception of paint, the machine work on the engine block and heads, the LED interior conversion and the tuning. Thanks go out to Dom @ Maxwell Power for the tuning, Brad @ X-Act machine for the engine work, and now Chuck at C&D for the new engine machine work, Paint by Justin Peabody @ Lexus and lastly Peter for the LED interior lighting conversion. Not to forget all of the great friends that have stopped by over the years to consume adult beverages and whatnot whilst turning a wrench late at night. And not to forget, thanks to Armin (Vergudo) for the two best shots of the car. I have had a love/hate relationship with this beast, most recently with her sale late in 2010, and then my buying her back in late 2011. (Welcome home Erebus) Then, I realized that I don't drive her very much anymore, and that prompted the second sale. Well, the financing fell through, and I have decided to rebuild her (we have the technology). She is currently disassembled in my garage awaiting new pistons, all new gaskets and a plethora of other goodies. Hopefully the tuning that follows will net even more wheel horsepower than the 422 she made before. I am aiming for over 500 at the wheels this time around. Erebus and I have been through quite a bit over the last 94,000 miles. Plenty of road trips to Oregon, California and Eastern Washington, as well as pulling Daily Driver status for several years. It is amazing that she is in as good condition as she is, without even a single door ding. She was also featured in the making of X-Box's Forza 2. If you have ever played the game, and you select an exhaust system for your car, the sound you are hearing was recorded from this very car at Dyno Authority in Redmond, WA with the assistance of Turn 10 Studios. Hopefully I can still find the pictures on my old tower of that session. ...More pictures to follow to show off the recent interior and exterior work that the picture that Armin took does not reflect. In March 2001, I was a complete and utter n00b. While I had always loved cars growing up, I had never worked on one, much less done anything mechanical whatsoever really. I loved the speed, I loved the looks, but I really knew nothing about cars other than what I'd read in magazines. None of my friends growing up were ever into cars and our high school didn't have an auto shop class or anything, so I was extremely inexperienced when it came to the car world and car culture as a whole.
This all changed when I came home from my college classes one day to find a beautiful World Rally Blue WRX sitting in my driveway. My parents explained to me that it was an early college graduation gift and they wanted to show how proud of me they were for doing so well in school all these years. At the time, I had been driving my parents' hand-me-down 1995 Subaru Legacy Wagon LSi and they knew I loved the car and the Subaru rally heritage, so the new WRX was their obvious choice. Since my father didn't know how to drive a manual transmission, the car was an automatic. Although the manual transmission version was the proper one to get, I surely wasn't going to complain about a brand new college graduation present like this. Since the car was a blue very similar to a giant robot in the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, I decided to give my new car the name "EVA-00," or just "Eva" for short. For the first 6 months that I had my car, I didn't touch it whatsoever. Here's a very early photo of the car, completely bone stock parked somewhere on Queen Anne hill: However, during these months of zero modification, I spend this time learning more about the car, about Subarus in general, and about forced inductions and suspensions. WRX-specific mods were very few and far between at the time, plus everyone was still learning about the new platform, so some of the early mods I had came from the 2.5RS or were simply unnecessary, such as my Blitz turbo timer. Come 2002 though, I discovered the Subaru communities of ClubWRX and I-Club, and thus Eva's transformation from a very generous college birthday present to something that would literally change my life. I started to attend local meets, many of which were "installfests" where you could bring a part to a designated person's house and everyone would just help you install the part, since there were pretty much no Subaru-specific shops at the time. From these I made a lot of friends that I still have today, even if I don't see them quite as often as I'd like. Many thanks go to Ivan McKinley, Mark Santa-Ana, Dave Wise, F o o k, Austin, Ron, and Hova back in the day for all their help and support. Slowly but surely, I kept adding mods to my car and then thanks to Ivan's encouragement, I entered my car into my first car show in the summer of 2002. I didn't win anything of course since my car was still mostly stock looking, but the bug had bit me. I realized that with my automatic transmission, my car wasn't really going to cut it as a track car, so I decided to go the car show direction instead. I sought out to attend any and all car shows that were open to all makes and models that I could, and of course I was happy to take plenty of photos at these shows and post them up on the various forums. With each passing car show, the desire to take home a trophy of my own continued to grow, resulting in more and more modifications to the car. As I became a car show regular, I started to make more friends and connections, including Garret at World One Performance. Garret and I quickly became good friends and he ended up becoming one of my first informal sponsors for my car. By the summer of 2003 came to a close, I decided it was time to step things up a notch and I secured a sponsorship from Do-Luck USA for a new body kit for the Eva. I also wanted to create a more formal car show team to participate in car shows, so the end of 2003 saw the birth of Team Intrinsic. 2004 was quite literally one car show, meet, or other car event after another and while I still sought my first major car show win, I gained plenty of car show experience along the way. I had hundreds of photos online from each show, which ultimately helped me land an editorial position with Ryan Douthit and Subiesport Magazine. This position directly led to launching my career, love, and passion for photography and I honestly don't believe it would've been possible had I not been showing my car at all these shows. By the end of 2004, Team Intrinsic was no more, but many of the former members joined me in a new, more car show-specific team called Project One, which stepped things up even more for the 2005 car show season. Eventually, I won my first major car show trophy at Tuner Bash After Dark 2005, and everything seemed to be going great. Then, right before Hot Import Nights 2005, tragedy struck. My car was involved in a front-end accident that, due to parts availability and other factors beyond my control, would sideline Eva for about 10 months. It was during this time that I decided to go all-out with the show car, which meant no more daily driving and adding mods that I was hesitant to do on a daily driver. I added a FMIC, changed the hood, changed the wheels, added a StopTech big brake kit with matching blue calipers, changed the front splitter to Do-Luck's carbon fiber version, added a new Do-Luck dry carbon fiber trunk lid, painted the roof black (one of, if not THE first to do this on a Subaru back in 2006), added paint-matched Hella Supertones, reupholstered the back seat to match my front Recaros, covered the headliner in suede, and finally added a complete stereo system in the trunk from Audio Integrations. By the first show at Sport Compact Nights in 2006, Eva came back to the car show scene in force and took home 1st Place Subaru, leading to a very successful year that ended in a Best of Show trophy at Battle of the Imports. 2007 resulted in a magazine feature in Performance Auto and Sound and even more continued car show success throughout the year. Three photos below by Josh Mackey: Many more here: http://www.nwmotiv.com/cars/feature-blue-bugeye/ I've done a few minor things here and there since then, but for the most part, Eva hasn't really changed in the past few years. I always have ideas swirling in my head for things to do, but as she sits right now, I'm quite happy with her. We've been through a lot together, and I know for certain that I wouldn't be where I am today in my life, career, and beliefs, if we hadn't driven down the roads that we have. She's not just a means of transportation or a pet project to me: she's really a part of me, and that's not something that most people can say about any car in their lives. As far as thanks and props, I've gotta say a big thanks to my cousin Wence, first and foremost. He's been with me through it all with the car, and I honestly feel that the car is half his in a lot of ways. Big props go to everyone in Project One for always being there and being the best group of car enthusiasts to be around. Ok I'll Jump in for funsies.
I've been tinkering around and having some more fun with my car lately. Changing things up a bit. Nothing too drastic from what everyone's seen in the past. I do have a mental list of things I want to do in the future. But money of course plays a big factor. I have discovered the joys of doing most of my own work. Now with the help of a couple of experienced hands and TONS of research I am more confident and willing to dig right in and go for it. I know not everyone agrees with my car's "personality" but she's one of a kind. Changes are coming around too. My car is an ever evolving being. I hope to say that this is the last vehicle I own for a while. Just because of the fun I am having working on it. I have used my car to basically be a rolling billboard for scoobiesforboobies.org. It catches a lot of attention without vinyl as well. Especially when I am at the car wash scrubbing my wheels or vacuuming my car. Which is something I like to do often. I can honestly say I never thought I'd be a Subaru owner. But I always wanted Pink wheels. But now that I have my Subaru I never want to give it up. Ok so let's start with the back story to my Subaru experience =] Back freshman year of high school I fell in love with the redesigned body style of the 06 STI and it became my achievable dream car. In 08 I test drove an STI hatch and the new body style started to grow on me, I remember driving home with my dad and saying I'll own that car one day. I wanted that car so bad that a couple years later when I left for boot camp a picture of a dark metallic 08 STI with stance is one of the few things I took with me. Well six years later I found myself at the age of 21 in a financial position to buy a used 08 STI by myself. So when I flew home to Sacramento, CA in February on leave I searched everywhere for the right car, I knew exactly what I wanted and wasn't going to settle. I ended up flying from Sacramento to long beach to look at a car (that I didn't buy) but while I was down there I found my dream car. I made the purchase of a completely stock 08 STI hatch limited in aspen white.
Being new to the Subaru community I sought advice from a friend and shortly had a COBB AP and cat-back in the mail. Three weeks later I sold the cat back and started on the path of building my car with intentions of maxing out the capabilities of the stock turbo. I am currently in the middle of the build with parts in the mail but this is how the car sits, hope you enjoy =] bremerton raceway St. john bridge portland Cruising down to PIR trying to drag race =P Seatle new wheels MODS: ENGINE: -nameless proformance intake and custom MAF housing -synapse bov -nameless proformance custom uppipe -synapse 40mm ewg -nameless performance 14" long unmuffled screamer pipe -nameless performance 3" catted dp -nameless performance 3" mid pipe -nameless perfornamce space invader axle back with 3.5" double walled tips -COBB ap and a full pro tune INTERIOR: -passport 9500ix radar detector -subaru all weather mats EXTERIOR: -guardline full vinyl wrap (matte olive green on the sides with matte black in the middle) -gaurdline emblem overlays (black with green stars in the front and green with black stars in the back) -guardline tail lights red and tinted -guardline reflector delete -guardline yellow fog light and side mirror blinker overlay -guardline side emblem backed out -debadged except for STI -front lip (forget which one) -all side windows and hatch window tinted -tint strip across the top of the windsheild -front liscence plate delete -mudflaps (forget the company but they're somewhere in the UK) There are many other mods in the works and for having the car for only two months, I'm happy with where it stands. In-between the mods I go to all the local Seattle meets that don't conflict with work. I also attend track days and drive down to PIR for the Friday night drags. In the first two weeks I owned the car, I put 2500 miles on it and in the last couple months I've driven on I-5 from long beach to Seattle multiple times. Needless to say, driving/moding my car is my passion. This being my third post on NASIOC in the couple weeks I've had a profile I'd like to thank everyone for being so nice, you guys are a very welcoming community. I would also like to thank Sean and Jake at guardline and Jason, John, Guy and Ryan at nameless performance, they are a great group of guys that know way too much about cars =P I look forward to dealing with you guys a lot more in the future. Anyhow, hope you all liked it, more photos and video in the near future, cheers. Last edited by greggory; 05-17-2012 at 09:26 PM. |

While I cannot take full Credit, I will give credit where credit is due.
I have known Ryan for nearly 5 years now, I bought my first Subaru in 2007 and a few months after that, I joined Nasioc. Soon after I found NWIC and of course was looking for some other people in town that had Subarus as well. Low and behold I find modaddict on the forums. NO idea who this guy but i find his My Addiction: my STi thread and start to read through it. (link included at the bottom) I send him a message about meeting up to hang out and BS. He happily obliged. I thought he was going to be some white trash guy at first but alas, he was just another guy who enjoyed Subarus and talking about cars. As time went on, our bromance grew. I helped him out with what little knowledge I had on his car, and with his grand knowledge of not only Subarus but also vehicles period he taught me many things that I now come to take for granted sometimes. In 2010, I got engaged to my wife, and asked him to be one of my groomsmen in my wedding, along with TokenNegro, Both of these guys who I met online through the use of Nasioc and NWIC. Funny side quick story, as we are all up at the front of the church only a few hours before I get married Ryan and the guys come up to me and say "Listen here, *Ryan pulls out STi keys* you can have my car free and clear if you walk away from the wedding right now"... Needless to say I grabbed the keys and took off. But in reality I didnt and thats when the seed was planted to buy his car from him. We talked back and forth every other week or so working on a timeframe to finalize everything. With him moving into a new house, he wanted to do it before then. When I picked up the car, I felt like i was literally taking all his hard work from him hes put into this car. It felt.. not good, but driving this beast I suppose makes up for it! Enough with the back story on the car and the previous owner, Here is the mod-list on the car, a few pictures, and of course ModAddicts original thread with tons of additional pictures you can surf through. Car started out as an autocross car until met up with Turbotrix and started to hang out too much at the shop.
The car has gone 11.6 @ 117 on a vf34 Moved up to an 18g and ran 10.9 @ 125 Then I tried to go even faster with that 18g and ran a 10.8 @ 128 Last pass the car ever made was a 11.0 @ 130 roasting what was left of the Exedy twin disc. Ben Hochman's 10-second streetable drag STI
I own a 2006 STI that is currently the fastest Subaru in the state of Colorado running 10.59 @ 129 mph at 5800ft of elevation.
*Car currently makes 507 AWHP and 476 AWTQ. Best of all, I'm on a stock-location turbo! *I have been featured in SPEED TV's "Pink's All Out" and was recently is the September issue of DSPORT Magazine which can be found here: http://dsportmag.com/browse/featured...drag-directive Background on my build: I purchased the STI new back in 2006, placing my order for it at the dealership shortly after Subaru had introduced the new body style. My love for Subaru's all started back in high school when the WRX was dominating the WRC year after year. A vehicle so well balanced in both power and control was awe-inspiring. As soon as Subaru brought the WRX over to the US in 2002, I knew I had to have one. Unfortunately, still in high-school at the time, and at the mercy of my parents approval, I had to settle for the 2002 Impreza 2.5 RS non-turbo version, because they felt the WRX was just "too much power" for me. I drove the 2002 Subaru 2.5 RS (non-turbo) during college, modifying it with the usual bolt-ons such as intake, headers, and exhaust all in an attempt to fill the lack of power it had in comparison to the WRX. Like many 2.5 RS owners I always dreamed of building the motor and installing a turbo kit, but with my college student budget at the time, I decided to just go with a 50-shot of nitrous instead. Let me tell you how upset this made my father, the man who had helped me purchase the car. He was so pissed off at me he told me I was not allowed to install it, and if I did, anything that happened to it was my responsibility, I would be completely on my own. The movie "The Fast and the Furious", which was still pretty recent at the time, had put so many false images of nitrous oxide in his head, all he could think of was me blowing my motor up. Luckily, I did my research ahead of time and ensured my installation and fuel adjustments were both correct and safe. As I started making more power, I began drag racing the car, and ended up winning numerous bracket events. Funny thing was, now my father wanted to know when my races were so he and my mother could come watch and support me. The car was only running mid 15's in the quarter mile at the time, but I will admit I thought it was fast. Best of all, the car NEVER EVER had any issues, despite running more than 100 10 pound bottles of nitrous through it! In the meantime, Subaru introduced the STI platform of the WRX into the US, which I quickly grew even more obsessed with than the WRX. It was one day at the drag strip where everything changed for me. I remember sitting in the stands watching other races between my runs, when suddenly the heads-up racing classes were called to the line. A group of import cars that included an rx-7, numerous civics and integras, a few supras, an evo, and an eclipse all battled it out running low 12's and high 11's in the quarter mile with absolutely no handicapping. The light went green for both cars at the same time, first to the finish won. It was a humbling experience for me. That is when I knew I had to get serious. The decision was made that I had to sell my 2.5 RS to start building the turbo platform, and it had to be the STI. Originally when I started building my STI the ultimate goal was set in place to build it for drag racing, be competitive in the heads-up classes, and still maintain it's streetability. Since most of the cars that race in the heads-up classes are built with double the horsepower and half the weight they started with, my original plan for the build was to start slow, knowing that I had a long way to go, and would eventually start making momentum on the build later on down the road. Not to mention I had just graduated college around the time I bought it, and my income was slim-to-none. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned even from the very beginning. After selling the performance parts off the 2.5 RS, before trading it in to the dealership, I had enough money to buy a few initial bolt-ons for the STI. I started with an intake, turbo-back exhaust, blow-off valve, and a boost controller. Unlike the 2.5 RS, that NEVER had any issues, despite all of the nitrous and abuse I had put it through, it only took me two months to crack pistons in the STI motor. Knowing the plans I had in store for the car, anytime something broke it would only be replaced with a stronger, reinforced performance part. Accordingly, a new set of CP forged pistons were installed with the help of the boys at Metro Performance to prevent any further piston issues. However, as you know, once you reinforce something, it then puts more stress on the next weakest part. Unfortunately the rest of the parts on the car that seemed to have reached their stress limit broke shortly thereafter, creating momentum on my build much earlier on than expected. (I broke the main shaft in the transmission the month after getting it back together.) At this point, I think I have nearly broken everything on the car at least once! Just last month I even ripped the pitch-n-stop mount right off the firewall and had to weld it back on in order to make it to a race! What sets my car apart for other, similar builds is I am still running on a "stock location" turbo setup, which is very rare for the quarter mile times I am running, and has even been said to be "amazing" when you take into consideration the altitude we are racing at here in Denver, CO. When Subaru owners decide to build their car for drag racing, one of the first thing they usually do is upgrade straight to a rotated turbo setup. This is because horsepower and torque play such a large role in drag racing, compared to road or rally racing where a vehicle's suspension and tires are more important. By modifying the turbo up-pipe, down-pipe, and intercooler piping, the turbo is then "rotated" upward and out of it's "stock" location that Subaru tucked it into from the factory, allowing more room for much larger turbos. When it came time for me to make a decision on which turbo I would run, I was looking for a turbo that would allow me to make as much high-end power as possible without sacrificing too much low-end power from slow spool time, since I still wanted the car to be streetable. At the time, most of the other fellow STI owners building their cars for the same purpose were going with rotated 30R's and 35R's. Instead of going this route, I chose to go with the FP RED "stock location" turbo from FP (Forced Performance). The FP RED is comparable in both size and power to the 30R and 35R, has quicker spool time (and therefore better low-end power), and still fits in the "stock location." The end result is a direct bolt-on turbo that produces enough high-end power to compete on the track with larger rotated setups such as the 30R and 35R, allows fitment with the factory down-pipe when necessary (containing catalytic converters for emission purposes), and still has enough low-end power to be safe and fun on the street. Last year in 2011 Robert at Forced Performance introduced the FP BLACK HTA turbo, which has enabled me to push the envelope even further with a stock location setup. My street car has probably over 300 drag passes on it since buying it new in 2006.
The car started out Drag racing the first month I owned it. I chased after the stock turbo records for the first year then started modding it to go faster untill it reached into the 10`s where at that point I decided to build a dedicated drag car that Ive posted about above. This car still goes to the strip a couple times last year just to keep things exciting. Heres some highlights from the cars history Some of the accomplishments with my car are as follows Canada's best 1/4 mile time with stock vf39 with a 12.31 @ 110.98 run back in June of 2007 that still stands today. Midwest Subaru Owners Club Shootout @ Byron IL. 1st place stock turbo 12.46 @ 109.54 mph on Sept 2007. I guess I'll go ahead and give this a shot and enter my 06 STI!
A little background on myself and the car: While in high school one of my best friends bought a brand new 06 STI WRB and gold and I fell in love with the car since the day he got it. We had a blast with the car. After I got out of school I knew I wanted to have the same exact car. I searched for right around a year after my business took off and got steady. I finally found the one, it had to be a WRB 06-07 bone stock one owner with low miles. I picked the car up June 30th 2009. I originally planned on keeping the car Cobb stage 2. Well after two weeks I was already there and bored. The modding got addictive and I found myself constantly wanting more and more. After 4 different setups (engines, clutches, injectors and 3 different turbo's later) I'm finally somewhat happy. I have quite a bit of room to grow on my current setup which is what is keeping me content for now. I went on a weight reduction kick and stripped off most of the unnecessary items to get the most out of my setup while still retaining a full weight look. I have a few different setups for the car so I can switch back and forth (wheels, trunks etc) between street track and show events. Here is my 06 STI, My love for Subaru began when I was stationed in Japan. I bought my first Subaru there and loved it and kept going I had 2 leggy wagons and a 93 wrx. When I came back to the states money didn't permit me to get another car right away. In 2010 I was promoted to E-6 and decided I might as well spend the extra money I am making on another car. Originally I was looking for a clean GC but when I came across this car I couldn't resist. From Day 1 I had the modding bug and I have been doing things to it little by little. Everything minus the clutch and engine build have been done by me in my garage at home. I have had help along the way from alot of great friends. My tuner is one of the best in Utah, medamullet. I am currently at 437 hp and 400 wtq at 22 lbs of boost on the Dom 1.5 xtr. I will be bumping that up to around 26 pounds in the next few weeks. Well here it is.

I will give it a shot.
The car started life as a 2004 STi, but after a small front end bump the front end was swapped out for a bugeye front end. I bought the car because I wanted something unique and fun, and I always wanted an STi. I paid for it while I was still in Afghanistan, but had my wife and brother in-law go check it out. What I didn't realize was that I bit off more than I wanted to chew. The front part of the widebody was good, but the rear looked like crap. Much worse that the pictures they sent me led me to believe. So bad that the rear widebody pieces were compleatley redone. About a month after the car was out of the body shop the trans exploded. The PO installed a trans oil cooler, since the 04s didnt come with one. What he didn't do was flare the end of the lines going into gearbox. I was driving 80mph down the highway on my way to work at 4:30AM when one of the lines pulled out, dumping all the fluid out and destroying everything inside. Since I have fixed everything I have moved to Virginia and have been kicking butt at the AutoX. Well I don't have any cool stories or anything. I just like working and racing my STi. It has been an on going project since I first bought it. I race time attack at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. The series is called Lap Battle Time Attack and it is run by NASA and BMG. It is a constant learning experience and each event I find things that I need to change. I found that, yes power steering fluid can in fact boil. I am currently having another motor built with a sleeved block, CNC heads, ceramic coated pistons and values, and bigger cams, in hopes to make some fantastic numbers. Below is the mods list, Im sure Im forgetting a lot. I have started to loose track of everything I have done. Well enough about that. This is my 04 Subaru STi. Thanks!

I was reading through this thread and figured I would give it a try. I would first like to say that I am very proud to represent Central Car Meets(Central San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Lawton Car meets) and want to thank god for providing all the strength, patience and great family and friends who have been there on those late nights and discouraging moments when things went wrong on installs. My name is Saul and I have been serving in the U.S Army for the last ten years. During those ten years I was introduced to an AWD, 4 cylinder compact automobile that blew my mind with its potential and all weather performance. In February of 2006 I purchased my First WRX and quickly started to modify. I added a different piece every month until July of 2007 came around when I was sent to Korea to spend a year on an unaccompanied tour. When august of 2008 came around I flew back to San Antonio on leave before reporting to Houston for my next assignment. After being Picked up from the airport i was driven back to my fathers house and when I arrived I found out that my wife had traded my 06 WRB WRX in for a 2008 AW STI. I slowly started to modify this car and within the last three years I have started to piece together a car that has been built to cruise calmly and piss people off by coasting at 50 mph in the fast lane with the ability to unleash its raw and brutal nature with a twist of a knob and a granny shift. I am nowhere close to finish but I am very happy with what WE have created so far. "you will never roll alone"
