Default Subispeed Tail light faulty...2-3 month wait!?

So I’ve ordered a few things from Subispeed and I’ve had a pretty good experience with them (minus one hiccup but it was fixed without issue).

I ordered their V2 smoked tail lights for my ‘16 STI back in April (if I recall correctly) and absolutely LOVE them...well...until 5 months later when my right blinker stopped working for no reason. Just died on me out of the blue.

When I found out about it, I emailed them and explained the situation. I sent videos, pictures of the QR code on the light, etc. Then I was told there’s a 2-3 month waiting period to have it replaced! That’s RIDICULOUS. Something about the guidelines the manufacturer set or something when it came to replacements and they need some special batch to come in.

Meanwhile, they’re listed as “in stock” on the website. Not really understanding why it can’t be replaced with items that are already at the warehouse. $550 for tail lights, which I was okay paying for, shouldn’t fault out that fast. But then to have to wait MONTHS for a replacement has left me scratching my head. I emailed them about the concern, and never got a reply. Tried calling and leaving a message (because they prefer email and don’t answer the phone I guess), to which I never got a call back like I asked.

I’m wondering if this is a larger issue with these tail lights and they have a ton of pending replacements, but when I asked if this was a common issue they said there were “sporadic”.

Meanwhile, someone in my club had his fog bezel replaced in 3 days. *eye roll*

Has anyone else had this issue? Kinda wish there was another manufacturer offering a tail light option. I’ll be weary purchasing any more “Subispeed custom” items in the future in case something breaks and I have to wait another 3 effin months...

Part of the issue is they are manufactured in Australia, can't remember the name of the manufacturer off of the top of my head though.. maybe you could do some research and just go straight to them?

Probably a manufacturing issue as stated above. From my experience, Subispeed knows what they're doing and will take care of it. But they're not great at communication.

They likely want to replace just your faulty light instead of the pair because $.

That said, I just ordered those new "Subispeed" headlights from Subimods, who label them as "Apollo" headlights. Because I trust Subimods' customer service much more should there be an issue with my lights.

Yeah I trusted paying $550 that my lights were worth that price and wouldn’t s**t the bed a mere few months later. And that if something DID happen for whatever reason, they’d be replaced in a reasonable timeframe.
