Default How much did you pay for your Powder Coating Wheels?

Originally I have been thinking to plasti dip my wheels but then I realized after a maintenance/oil change they could get ruined so decided to not to do that.

Powder coating seems to be more of a permanent and durable option. I am in the LA area and would like to paint them gold, anybody done it, if so where, and how much did you pay?

Mine were about 125 a wheel. I love them but for the total cost I could have bought some very nice rims. So make sure you like them a lot before you coat them.

$60 per wheel from a local guy who does it on the side. He mostly does motorcycle parts but will do wheels as well.

$500 for my custom color, but I know the guy.

It depends, there are single stage coats and multi stage coats. Flat colors are generally cheaper (single) while metallic and some glossy colors can be more. (multi)

My wheels are a metallic silver blended with a blue pearl.

I recently called a few different powdercoating shops in the LA area and was quoted $400-500 for 4 wheels for gunmetal or anthracite colors.

dude seriously where did you call? I called 2 one quoted me 700, today I went to one quoted me 840 then came down to 750. These businesses have 5 star ratings on yelp but seriously that's way too much for a rim coating.

Guess I am gonna go with my original idea and plasti dip, and if during an oil change they ruin it so be it, will redo the plasti dip. It costs 50 bucks.

Suggestion. Go on craiglist and search for powder coating. Some people do it on the side and some large-scale operations can slide yours into the production line. Either would be cheaper than a coating shop.

400 for my 18 inch prodrive to be done in evo grey with all lips repaired. It was 200 to get my 17 inch rct4 done in white. I think color choice will determine price.
