Default Poll: Hill Assist/Hold, On or Off

I know this is only a very small sample size of overall owners here, just wondering what percentage of the members here have it switched on/off. Thanks for participating.

Off on my 2015 WRX. Makes for much smoother 1st gear starts.

On, I like not rolling back on a hill.
I don't think hill assist turns on on flats or downhill because the system is looking for your inputs. Usually you would hold the brake pedal while clutch down and put in gear But on flats and downhill, you normally don't do that you simply let off brake pedal before depressing the clutch.

If however traffic gets worse (if that's possible) I may turn it back on.

OP, you know you can actually make a yes or no poll in your post, right? We could get an actual tally that way.

09, on.
Got to be defensive against all the filthy automatic transmission peasants that see no issue in pulling up 6 inches out from your bumper.

Yes, and I tried. I did select that feature but for whatever reason, it did not work for me.

16 WRX: Off

But this is honestly my biggest gripe about the car. I want it off for 99% of driving because it hinders more than helps. Then the 1% of the time I need it (stop and go traffic on a decent incline) and you can't easily turn it on. Would it be too difficult to have it as an on/off switch similar to traction control?

Pretty much the only thing I don't like about the car. I think they need to get rid of the stupid light too..

'17 WRX-On. Living in the mountains it's quite handy. Takes a little getting used to.

2018 WRX on. Only time I notice it is when I'm glad its there. I can understand how in an OEM setup with the low idle rpm, deep clutch draw, and nervous throttle that it could get annoying.

My daily commute has some very steep overpasses that are bumper to bumper and with people riding my ass i rather have that security of knowing i wont roll back into them. Previous car didn't have hill assist and way too many times the anxiety kicked in and i stalled.
