If I buying wheels, how does offset affect my choices, and finally what is the off set for a 2002 WRX Sedan |

![]() Wheel offset is a measure of how far the hub (where it ataches to the car) is from the horizontal center of the wheel. So if you're looking at your car's wheel head on, zero offset would put the hub right in the center. Positive offset puts it further away from the car. Negative offset puts it closer to the car. I hope that makes sense, because without a diagram, I can't think of a better way to explain it. Subarus have an unusually high amount of positive offset on their stock wheels. I think it's somewhere in the low to mid 50s (+54?). I think the official minimum is +48.

![]() +53mm offset for Subaru wheels. Try searching in the susp, brakes, rim and tire section. This has been covered many times before in there.
