Default I've got 3 sets of wheels, which set do i get rid of?

I now own two GM6s. Aspen White 99 and Blue Ridge Pearl 2001. Between the two cars, I also own three sets of wheels and two sets of tires:

Gold 17" O.Z. Superleggeras w/ 215/45 ZR17 Potenza S-03 pole positions
Gold 17" Speedline supertourismos w/ 215/40/17 Parada spec IIs
OEM 16" 2001 RS wheels w/out tires

Here's the question: I'm selling the blue 2001, and it needs to have a set of wheels and tires on it when it goes. I'm definitely keeping the superleggeras. They are my summer wheels. But, i'm also keeping a second set of wheels for winter. The third set has to go on the 2001 for sale.

If I keep the Speedlines, I've gotta buy two sets of tires right now: 1 set for the 16s so I can sell them with the blue car, and 1 set of of 17" winters for the Speedlines. However, it means I've also got a set of Parada Spec IIs sitting around to use when the Potenzas wear out. The downside: I can't really afford two sets of tires right now. I could potentially get more money out of the current car if I sold it with a $2000 wheel/tire package instead of some cheap rubber on the stockers.

If I keep the stockers, I've only got to buy one set of tires. Tires for the 16s would be cheaper than for the 17s, and a smaller diameter wheel would be better in the winter. This is the most cost effective solution to my problem. The downside, however, is that I lose a well-made, great looking set of wheels and an equally great set of tires.

So to recap: I'm selling my 2001 BRP GM6 with either 17" Speedlines and Spec IIs, or with Stock wheels and a set of tires i'll have to buy. What to do?

Oh, I forgot to mention...If I keep the RS stockers, I'm going to powdercoat them black.

My 2¢:

1) 16s are better for Maine where you get real winter and the back roads are choppy.

2) 2001 RS wheels are a well-made, great looking set of wheels, especially if you powdercoat them black.

3) But you'll never get decent return including wheels/tires with the car when you sell it.

So sell the Speedline Supertourismos to someone who really wants them and will pay you what they're worth. Keep the RS wheels for winter and spend $300 on a set of crap WRX wheels with old RE92s to put on the car when you sell it.

That's not a bad plan. Anybody else have any suggestions?

So, i don't think that plan's going to work. It's still got me buying more wheels. I'm trying to unload some financial burdens, not create more. While your idea would probably get me some good money, I don't really have the cash or the timeframe to front it for now. So...anyone else have an opinion?

If you didn't like Jon Bogert's idea, which I also thought was pretty good, I think you've anwered your own question.

Put the Speedlines on the 01 and sell it. Then you'll have the money to buy tires for the RS wheels.

Or you could try to trade the RS wheels for a set of OEM WRX wheels with tires. Lots of people hate their RE-92s, and like the 16x7 RS wheels. If you could do it quickly and locally, you could sell the 01 with those, and keep both sets of 17" wheels.

Edit: That's just a rehash of the previous idea, but I thought it might work if it was a trade instead of a buy.

The key variable here is how much you could realistically sell any of your used wheels/tires for. It may be that the real price you could get for the Supertourismos is significantly less than you paid for them.
