Was getting coffee this morning, and one of the girls has a slammed Honda. She asked if I was going to lower my car, and said she likes her wheel gap like she likes her women, finger tight.
This is the same girl who a couple weeks ago said my car gave her a lady boner

Default Horn/intercooler

Gearing up at the base to go snowboarding standing next to my 07WRX, some dude was chatting it up with us about Subarus. A nice white hawkeye with bright red supertones drives by.

Me: "hey, he has those horns I was thinking about getting."
Dude: "Those red things in the grill? that is the intercooler."
Me: "the round, red, circular things?"
Dude: "Intercooler."
Me: "oh."

I stopped talking because I didn't want to be a pipey-mouthed know it all girl.

People who know nothing about Subarus do ask peculiar questions.

Had a guy pull up next to me at a light in a Civic yesterday and ask if my car has a V6 in it. I started to explain that no, it has a turbocharged flat-4, but I stopped because I didn't want to witness his head exploding.

This girl sounds like her slammed Honda, "impractical attention whore". What do most people think when they see a slammed car? "What a ****ing tool".

I was at a local JDM importer checking out his inventory and a kid in a S2000 pulls up. As his passenger gets out he looks at me then to my car.

Him "Why did you debadge the STi"
Me " I didn't its a WRX"
Him "That body style is an STi"
Me "That body style can be both, mine is just a WRX" (avoiding detail of the engine swap as to not further confuse him)
Him "Wait so a WRX is not an STI?"

Seems he had no idea there was a difference.

On the way to preschool, after a quick leave from a light, my 4 year old son posed the important questions:

Son: "Hey, dad. Can you do a wheelie?"
Me: laughing, "No, buddy, I can't. Sorry."
Son: "Well, why not?"

^^^oh lord

At the gas station today, someone asked me if I did an auto swap while calling me an idiot. I tried to explain the 02-03 came with a 4EAT optional transmission. To which I got the response "nah man I don't think so. If got auto, someone swapped it from an Impreza". He then pursued to "mock" me for owning an auto Subaru. When he walked out of the station, I watched him walk to a beat ass old Camry with mega body damage and rust.

I'm just here like, who are you to bash someone's car when you drive this rust bucket ?...

Few things have been said to me:
1. "Pop a wheelie..... -_-...."
2. "OMG a girl driving an sti!!!! I like your car!", not so bad....
3. "Gun it!!!" By random person while there's hella traffic in front of my daughter's elementary school..... Not f*cking smart dude....
4. Told by my wonderful yet very young co-worker(btw I work at O'Reilly's, I am not a mechanic Jim, I just own a Subaru.) He says on the first day I met him, "I bet my 5.0 Mustang can smoke your sti, actually, come to my birthday party, that would be the best ending to my birthday, smoking the **** out of your sti..." -_-, also, not the first best impression of this ass....
5. Getting raced in-town by people who own dodge caravans, and suv....
6. Constantly getting asked by dudes who obviously can see that I am not a ****ing mastertech, ask me all kinds of questions to make me feel like a dumbass; and then say my car is a piece of expensive **** and I should have been practical and bought a Honda/Acura/Toyota, even though this is the second Subaru I have owned....
7. I have tried to drift the car.... Not that ****ing easy.... You want to drift, go buy a f*cking 240 (I used to have one, that is all I used it for, was also young and dumb when I got it and burnt the engine and blew a head gasket.)
8. My car is stock..... No mods. Car has 215K, still runs strong. Just do regular maintenance. Will need to let it go someday, because I have a fam. May need to move onto a Forester(still want the sti engine in it.... hehehe)

-Peace

I said, "Yes? :/...." "Is your Subaru used/new, cus damn have I wanted to buy one of these things. How many miles? Is it fast as they say?" I was like omg I thought I was in major trouble instead the cop had a subie b*ner..... It made my day.

Haha cops with subie love always make for a good time

Has an older guy in a new civic dam near rear end someone just so he could lean out his window to give me a thumbs up and say my car looks nice. He couldn't keep his eyes off of it lol.
Buyers remorse maybe? Lol

Look, the least you can do for your son is install a wheelie bar in the back so the car appears to be capable of a wheelie. Is that too much to ask? For your son?

This seems like an acceptable weekend project lol.

He went to the dragstrip test and tune with us last week and saw a few cars pull the front wheels. At least I got to explain some things about "daddy needs 300 more hp and better weight transfer." Not sure that will stick with him haha.

Gonna go out on a limb here and make an educated guess on car envy considering his POS ride.

The one time a cop complimented my car I wasn't even in it... I let my dad take it out and he couldn't wait to get back to let me know. =/

So I was stopped at a red light in my 06 sti and a rx8 pulled up, when it turned green he took off as I casually made my way to the next red light, threw my throttle control into sp3 and burned him by at least 6 car lengths, stop at the gas station and he screams out at me "HAHA I HAD YOU ON THE FIRST ONE" ..
