I was looking for an answer to the same question you are asking - but the opposite end.

Ive got basically a bone stock STi with just a intake and TBE. My clutch is toast. After looking at the capabilities of both the Street Disc and 6 Puck setup - I know the Street Disc is what I will be most likely be purchasing. The 6 puck is more of a harsh grab whereas the Street Disc is just that - a disc for the street as it puts less stress on the transmission.
For your application - 500+ hp drag only I would say that the 6 Puck may be a weeker link in your application.
I would look into a Carbon - Carbon Twin Disc setup as it grabs quick you would be more pleased with that setup vs settling for a ACT lower end spectrum clutch (no offense intended for ACT)
Also after searching around I would stay away from Exedy unless you know how to do the modification necessary for reliability to the Slave Cylinder.

This is just my .02
If someone has better advise please let me know as I am still researching into my clutch application.

i have almost 3500 miles on my street disc and its about toast on my gt35r (475whp). i ordered a 6 pad sprung hub disc and im keeping the act pressure plate and flywheel. when i talked to act i was told the 6 pad sprung and unsprung will hold the same power. the clutch will be going in probably 2weeks or so.

Didn't know that ACT sold 6 puck SPRUNG discs for us... maybe I was mistaken. I'd go for the 6 puck over the street disc any day for a rotated setup making any sort of decent power... street disc won't hold it... just get used to the puck.

Why not buy the street kit or 6 puck kit and the "disk only" of the other.
There is a STI 6puck disk for sale in the Private section.

That was you can try both disks for minimal cost. The pressure plate and associated parts are exactly the same.

Well this won't be going in the car soon and I know, moorebl, that you finished your setup already but I got my ACT Sprung 6 Puck clutch kit in... Lookin' sweet. Hell, it's basically an RPS copy so, hoepfully it treats me as well as your RPS treats you......

I installed an ACT unsprung 6 puck on an sti w/ a gt35r kit .... if you want a harsh clutch with a heavy pedal, that will shake you to death when you aren't launching it, go with the ACT 6 puck, it should hold. I know it is more $$$, but I'd look into the Exedy twin disc setup. these clutchs can be a little noisy, but they are generally smooth, and will definately hold the power.

ps.
