+38 is the perfect offset for this car. It's what my current DR's are and the fill everything out perfectly. +35 is too much. +40 needs a little more. +38 is just right!

It's just a personal preference thing for me of course. I had +38 in the past and it was a little too much for me. These are my WedsSport SA-10R in 18x9.5 +45 with 265/35 Conti DWS06 tires. It's perfect for me. 20170728-wrx2 by Tyler McGowan, on Flickr |

Haha possibly. Depending if I can find another wheel that does it for me. The DR's are still a favorite of mine, so I am not in a rush. |

SSR GTV02 in Glare silver. It’s meant for your car, I’m telling you!
Edit: unfortunately no +38 offset. |

Yes yes those as well. They both look so good with the 15+ and your car color.

I don't check your journal for many days, and the first thing I realize going on is that you're looking into changing wheels. Of course LOL

Haha, when a thought goes through my head I usually post it up here and then all hell breaks loose. Most likely going to hang onto the current wheels for now until I can swing the Ze40's. But if something looks appetizing, I may take the jump.

Few quick updates
Finally got the car aligned after installing the coilovers. I wanted to wait until I got the exact ride height I wanted and make sure the coils were broken in properly. I ended up going to one of my favorite local shops that I used to take my m3 to. Very informative guys, super clean shop, and just overall a pleasant experience every time I go. It's called front end shop and they are located in farmingdale, nj. Highly recommend! Final specs came out to be -1.4 camber up front with 0 toe. Rear is a bit more aggressive with -2.2 and -2.6. Some camber arms will alleviate the excessive camber, but I'm ok with it for now. I'm afraid going less camber would rub the fenders hard and I'm trying to stay away from rolling my fenders. Someday, I might snag a set of spc arms, but for now I'm happy. The car drives awesome. Feels so planted and tight. Flat through corners and just really increases my confidence while driving harder. Really pleased with how the car is currently setup. A rear sway would definitely benefit and finish off the handling aspect. Definitely on my list. I also ordered some new tires. Continental dws06 in 265/35/18. Tirerack had a rebate until the end of the month, so I decided to get them now instead of waiting. Looking forward to getting them on! I noticed some grease being slung onto my driver front wheel. Looks to be coming from the axle shaft on that side. Any ideas what may be the cause? Is there is a simple fix for this? Also, should I be concerned? It's not a ton, but enough to notice and globs of it on my wheel. Last edited by ScoobyFreak86; 08-31-2017 at 09:17 PM. |

Uhhh I'm no expert but I wouldn't brush off a potentially torn axle boot. If it runs dry you'll definitely need an axle. I'd visit the dealership.
Also, you might eliminate the need for an upgraded RSB if you reverse your camber settings. More up front, less out back. And I'm running the same tires in the same size. They're amazing. |

Yeah, I could do that, but as I said, I would need to start rolling fenders and get some adjustable arms to dial the camber back. It handles just fine for what I use the car for currently. Great! I have been a large fan of the DWS's and looking forward to getting them on this car. |

I may be getting an alignment on the 12th at RT Tuning. They want to check to see if I need one first, then decide if they're going to do it. It's been a year since I've had one. But if I do, I'm going to see if they can do -2* all around with 0 toe. I'm currently at -1.5* all around right now and I feel there's some room for more turn-in response. |

Got my new tires mounted up this weekend. Amazing what a difference a new tire makes. Car drives so much smoother and so quiet! Sidewalls are softer so some float was introduced, but that was to be expected. A rear sway bar should be the ticket. Happy to be able to drive in whatever whether that Mother Nature decides to throw at it. Looking forward to winter in this car!
Did a quick wash this weekend and decided to record it. It's a boring video, but hey figured why not. |

As I watched the whole wash video, I realized about 2/3 of the way through that I wasn't looking at your old neighborhood lol. Car looks fabulous.
