I am. And if anyone is interested in switching I'd recommend giving AWDTuning a call if you have any questions. I think half of the cars they tune run E85 these days

Did anyone make it out to the Texas Mile? AWDTuning's shop car ran 201mph. It is now the fastest Subaru in the history of the mile and fastest subaru standing mile anywhere AFAIK.

From Matt's experience on the '04, the fuel switch was easy (injectors and tune - can't remember if there was anything else as it was a while back) and he didn't encounter any issues. The vehicle idled very smooth and seemed to like E85 better (I heard this about E85 in an SVX as well). The only downside what that I think when he averaged out fuel cost, was that E85 was a little more costly (cheaper but consumes at a higher rate). The only reason he went back to 93 was that he couldn't find enough E85 pumps for long road trips.

They seem to be popping up now though. So I'd check how many pumps are around your normal driving as well as around SA to know far you can safely go and not run out of purchase options.

That's my main problem is I have only seen one station with it near me so I think I'd likely tune for both 93 and e85. But I still have time before I start any modification to my car.

My power steering pump and a/c compressor both have leaks and its about time for my 120k service.
Anything I should be checking besides what is under the extreme service interval? I burn oil regularly so I'm gonna try rotella t6 over the mobile 1 I've ran for the last 10k.

Cold starts will be harder. Meaning it will take a little more turning over before the car starts.. Other than that fuel economy. Those were my only negatives.

Is the fuel economy made up by the price difference in e-85?

When I was doing the math I was spending more on E85 than 93..

The best MPG I got on e85 was about 16.3 mpg on the highway. With 93 I was getting about 22.

The price difference wasn't significant enough at the time to be any better. I haven't checked recently though, but I bet its the same.

At lunch I'll go drive by the Valero and see what the price of 93 is compared to e85. Last I checked it was less than $1.00 difference.
