Default 02' Wagon complete hatch shave...

Been tossing this idea around for a while now, there are obviously a few obstacles in the way if i am going to give it a try. The biggest being what to do with the contour or body line for lack of a better word, that goes across the back of the hatch.

Getting a piece of metal to fill the handle should not be to big of a deal i would not think. I am by no means crafty when it comes to body work. I have done enough to get done what was needed to get done. Its just something I never really had patience for.

Anyone ever gave this a try or had any similar experiences? I have shaved S-10 tailgates before and relocated the handle to the inside of the bed, which I was going to attempt something similar on this application. I can likely draft and have parts fabricated for this job if need be.

Any ideas/input on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I'd swap the subaru bumper for a saabaru bumper. No plate location would look clean

I skinned my mazda b2200 gate and built a lisc plate on angle, but still kept the original contour, one skim and high build. It still looks good

I also did my 99 civic I skinned the face and stitched welded it with a backing, and put a small lisc plate box in with rounded edges.

I like the look of that stuff, but I like the saabaru bumper idea,
