Here's my response to another person that mentioned rule of thirds to me:

For how much I would've had to back up and turn to keep the sun mostly out of the picture, I would've been in the highway in the southbound lane.
Had I had a spotter to tell me when traffic was coming while I was looking at the car through my camera, I could've done it. My hearing already isn't the best (had ear surgery as a kid since it was so bad) and the constant wind on the highway being next to the inlet doesn't help, so I wouldn't have been able to tell if a car was coming without constantly looking away from the camera. I thought about it, but it just wasn't worth it to me. I don't want to die outside of my car, I want to die WITH my car.

The picture was actually an exercise in editing! Here's the original.

Crazy forest fire hundreds of miles south has caused a lot of smoke in Anchorage, so I figured I'd run up a mountain and snap some shots. All of my pictures came out pretty crappy. My cell phone actually took a better shot, but here's one okay one from my camera.

Just thinking out loud, but I'm considering moving to the East Coast early next Spring. Got a buddy that seems like he might be ready to move out and have a roommate. Our other buddy that we were planning on moving to California with later this year fell through. Of course, California was more impulsive, while the East Coast feels... better. Just scanning through Craigslist at jobs in North Jersey (where my buddy lives currently), there seem to be a goodly amount of executive assistant/office jobs, either part-time or full-time. I wouldn't need full-time work, just enough to pay for my BRZ, gas, food, insurance, rent. So I'm thinking monthly expenses... $900-$1000 for everything, give or take $150.

I've been done with Alaska for a while, but my biggest concern is employment, bills and having a place to sleep that isn't my car (although I've slept in worse places than my beautiful BRZ). Nothing set in stone, I just like getting differing perspectives. People like to act like you can't survive anywhere outside of your hometown, but countless people do it all the time.

My thought too since that's primarily what's held me back from anything prior. Anything else?

I like those, those seem better executed than what you have. Sad but true.

Kind of what I was thinking. NigelJDMParts was selling them for $209. Japanparts has them for $290. I paid $300 for my current ones. I'd have Element Automotive install them. That installation was atrocious. I'm just mad because these Chargespeed ones are exactly how I thought they should've been made in the first place, but no one was doing anything like them at the time.

I like mine, but they don't nearly as OEM as the Chargespeed ones.

I blame Celery for everything.

i like the ones with smaller lead's. obviously paint the chrome

east cost is nice, plenty of work for those willing to look and go through interviews. i can see and maybe hook you up with a gig. plenty of housing and apartments to rent in decent areas.

a lot to consider, but its a great place to live IMO. with in 45 minutes of driving you're in philadelphia, New york city, upstate on curvy roads. etc etc.

Another location to consider would be southern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois. Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison are all great cities. Northern IL and WI have some fun roads and lake Michigan is nice. If it weren't for the 2 hour drive to work, I'd move to Wisconsin tomorrow.
