Had a buddy fix the flange for my mid pipe tonight. Have had a random exhaust leak for the past couple days where it could come on whenever it felt like then go away after a bit of easy driving and we finally got time to figure out what was causing it. Turned out the weld on the mid pipe flange had cracked right in the middle all the way around. So we pulled that off, gutted the cat out of it, and he welded the flange back on.

What Metros said.......make sure your car is mechanically sound, a decent brake pad/fluid and a helmet. It doesn't take much to get started. I've run with several groups/clubs over the years and NASA is a great bunch of guys. I believe it's $45/year membership and then whatever the cost of each event. The orange STi is my son's car but I've enjoyed tracking it so far. My son (15 1/2 years old) will be starting out with a 2006 Miata that we've added some swaybars and coilovers to. He'll eventually work his way up to the Subaru. I'll be tracking a C7 Z06 next year and will give his STi a break.

My last track car...

Just finished setting up the Miata for track use (lightweight OZ wheels)....just need to add the roll bar to complete it.

Nope, when I close the hood of the car, the air duct sits on the outer part of the intercooler, no marks on the strut bar what so ever

DoingOk....can I be your child also? Wow, great car lineup. I used to own a C5 Z06. I miss that car, I think my STI may be the last 4 cylinder project I take on.

New power steering pump, new belts, fixed short shifter issue, added led to exterior lights, and finished stereo n speakers installation on the wagon.

Had a p303 code today on the STI. Seems like a bad coil pack hopefully

Did my timing belt service a little later than I should have. The old belt looked like hell. Haha Now the power steering is acting up. Hooraaay.

hmmm the lip on the air duct will hit my cusco brace... I have to bend it slightly back, and then close the hood gently.

I ripped of my cheapo-home-depot lip (felt guilty since the day I put it on), and prepped it for the BaysonR lip. Will be plastidipping that one and putting it on today, if weather allows.

Default Inspected!

Passed safety and emissions inspection! You guys in 2015s wouldn't understand, but for my 1997 you never know what they're gonna come back with.

Now off to DMV to correct a lapsed registration
