Default 2 3/4 ton jack leak down

So I have a 2 3/4 ton jack that's 2 years old and only recently started to slowly let the car down with the tires off the ground...it did not leave puddles anywhere, so I decided to try to change the fluid...now it wont lift at all, and I ripped off all of the rubber surround the filler plug. But it still seal and won't leak...i,am not sure were I went wrong. I bled out all the air or at least to,my knowledge. I didn't touch the safety relief valve. Any body help me out, kinda lost on floor jack, I didn't figure it would be this difficult.

if it wont lift you still have air in there. also, lots of jacks slowly go lower, its fine, as you are supporting your car by jackstands anyways. right?

sounds like the piston seal its leaking internally and causing it to creep down. may be able to get a rebuild kit but for the time involved & price you may just want to cut your losses and get a new one ?

yes i support it by jack stand always...i just noticed it when changing my oil pan. I had to lift the engine a bit by the tranny to gain access to the rear oil pan bolt and within 30 seconds the access was gone...

UPDATE: ok well i figured out half of my problem.
What i though was the "drain plug" actually had the 2 ball bearings in there and a spring.(FOund in drain pan). i have no idea what order they go back in but i put the small ball bearing in, the spring then the large ball bearing. now when i pump the handle down the jack moves up, but when i bring the handle up the jack goes down.. If i lift the saddle by hand and i close the release valve it holds, and when i open it the saddle goes down?
