![]() I put in new motor mounts, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs (incredibly easy with the engine out lol), new radiator hoses, and other various hoses that weren't looking too healthy.
New oem thermostat, new timing belt(another thing that's super easy with the engine out) and associated parts. Maybe fuel filter too. New pcv as well since it's easy to get at, and the part is pretty cheap. I'd start with those things. Give the bay a good cleaning while the engine is out. Turbo inlet if it's not looking too good. |

![]() Thanks! Would a oil catch can and vapor canister removal be wise now? Or will that mess up my emissions?

![]() If you're trying to keep your car in a state that will legitimately pass smog, at least in the stricter states, I'd leave the canister unless it's causing problems. You also might run in to problems when trying to fill up the fuel tank if you remove that stuff.
If you're set on removing that stuff, by all means go for it. I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life ![]() As for the catch can, I'd wait on that. Personally, I'd get the engine installed and running first before installing the catch can. Just to minimize variables if something goes wrong with the engine install. Fewer things to check if you have issues. |
