Default explain the appeal of vinyl and gaudy bodywork

don't understand it. half of these cars with decals that look like they have multi-colored vomit streaks all over them, and body work that belongs in a judge dread movie still have factory exhausts and suspensions?
is that the true definition of "fronting"

it's a personal decision.

i had vinyl on my TSD/Rallycross Impreza for years.
call it what you will but i loved it and it was FUN!!

ONCE i stopped racing the car, i removed the stickers...
not coz i give a damn what anyone thinks,
but because i wanted to...

again, it's a personal choice.
car is not just a car to a lot of the folks here
it's a toy, a piece of art, a hobby....

if you're making the car payment i say do what you want with YOUR CAR
public opinions be damned

my 90 sedan was used for rallyx so i had some subaru vynil on the rear quater panel. as well as my "sponsor" it was a friends shop that fabbed up an exhaust for free for me.

i like some stickers on a street car. its just kind of fun. but not a fan of garish body kits. but if a car is used for any type of competition i say go for it. you want to stand out so your car gets pictures taken of it in the hopes you might make it into a magazine article or something like that.

Its all a matter of personal preference.
In my case it is a matter of supporting and representing my sponsors and my car team. My car is a show car that is what I enjoy doing. I also enjoy going to the track and the drag strip too... I just bought the REX about 2 months ago and already have a few grand in parts in the garage from sponsors...
None of the parts were free... I still payed for them.. Not Much.. But still had to pay..
Here is a picture of my Honda I traded for the REX.. I believe in doing it cleanly but not too excessive !!!

My REX will not be anything like this... But it will have vinyl..
I am not into the gaudy crap either...
