Default So I just waited and hour and a half in line for a doughnut

Krispy Kreme opened up on Tuesday and there has been a line about .5 miles long ever since... I figuired hey... its Thursday can't be that bad by now.. and its 10:15 in the morning. I called them up and asked how long the wait was and they said 20 minutes, so I grabbed my laptop(with DVD player) and headed over there...
1.5 hours later I am back at work
Oh well... they are so good.. sorry for the rambling I have alot of sugar in my body right now.

i doubt your krispy kreme can beat our krispy kreme's current record for most sales in the first week...we had traffic backed up on the interstate while people tried to exit...and the line of cars was up to 3 miles or more longer...plus krispy kreme had shuttle busses running to other parking lots

and it's just a goddamed donut

Half a mile line for Krispy Kreme? I can drive by any Krispy Kreme around here and there's never more than 3 or 4 people in there... even when that HOT NOW sign is on.

Is the rest of the country just now getting Krispy Kreme or something? This is about the 5th "mile long line" story I've heard lately

They opened one outside of Seattle a few months back...I think there are still people in line.

I like Krispy Kreme, but only in moderation. Getting one right off the line for free is what gets me to go.

It's always been like that here. Our Dunkin Donuts is good, but they mostly serve those heavy cake donuts, not the fluffy iced sugary ones like KK. So there's always a line.
That being said yeah one is enough.

props to NC... home of Krispy Kreme! Btw- don't feel so bad, when they opened the first KK in Mississauga, ON - people were waiting for 3 hours in line.

The cool thing about these donuts is the fact that they keep for a while thanks to the sugar glaze! To make them taste fresh, just nuke them for a few seconds. That is if you ever have leftovers!

KKs are good, but not more than a 10 minute wait good.

yeah, that's why they sell them at the supermarkets here in NC virtually NO wait!

Yeah... I used to do computer work for a place right across the street from the KK headquarters in Winston Salem. I guess I've just always taken them for granted... considering they have a store in every town, sold at grocery stores, gas stations, fundraisers, etc.

KK is good

I heard that if you eat ~100 KK donuts, your pancreas will fall out. Has this happened to anyone??

I've had maybe a dozen in the past 2 years, so I just wanted to limit my intake...

What's a "Krispy Kreme?"
When people talk about a Krispy Kreme doughnut, they're usually referring to our signature treat: the Original Glazed. Made from a recipe dating back to the 1930s, our Original Glazed doughnuts have helped set us apart. And if you haven't had an Original Glazed HOT off the line, you need to try one!

Look for the Hot Light!
It signals our customers about some really good news. When we turn the light on during certain hours of the day and night, it means that our Original Glazed yeast-raised doughnuts are coming out RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT! So come on in and get some HOT!

We don't have them in my area of Canada yet so I can't say I understand the fuss. We have Tim Hortons here which is now the largest food chain in Canada, surpassing even McDonalds.

BTW, McDonalds =

In college I'd make trips to the Donut Man in San Dimas at about 3 AM and wait around for freshly made Apple Fritters or Strawberry Donuts (mmm, fresh strawberries) but theres no way in hell I'd wait around for Krispy Kreme. If I really want a heated ball of sugar I can do that on my own
