I just got brembos and need to run 5mm spacers in front. Is it ok to have spacers only in the fronts or do I need to put 2 in the rear as well.

Guys I have a 2000 2.5rs.

Was gonna get a set of steel wheels & tires from discount tire but the offset on their universal steel wheels is +41. The car is my daily.

Reaching 100K miles.

Is it safe to assume that this offset is not bearing friendly.

In addition, the steel wheel is lug centric, not my favorite choice.

Tire rack has a steel wheel with +50 with the correct bore which is much better but due to shipping the set will be $100 more.

Opinions.

I have a 2010 wrx sedan with stock wheels and 225/45-17 tires. Just did Sprint Sport springs. I'm looking to get Enkei RPF1s in either 17x7.5 or 17x8. The front fenders have about half the lip trimmed by the previous owner. Any idea if the 8in wide wheels will rub? Looks like I've got a bit of room to work with but would rather be sure ahead of time. As far as I know the offset is 48mm for the 7.5 and 45mm for the 8 in.

Nobody has any experience with this wheel size? Also I will roll my fenders if need be. I'd really like the 8in wide wheels.

It might be posted in here somewhere, but what if I want to fit wider than 8''? Correct me if I'm wrong but the stock wheels are 17x8 offset of 53? Whats the recommended offset for a wheel thats 9 or 10 '' wide?

They will fit fine, even if your fenders were completely stock.

Stock wheels come in a variety of sizes. Need to know what you drive to answer any questions at all.

It's a 2013 wrx sedan, I'm looking to fit new rims but I want to go wider than the stock one, I'm assuming this will help performance, although some people have been telling me that wider tires will make the steering sloppy and is isnt worth the extra grip. This is my first all wheel drive so I'm somewhat in the dark compared to the cars/trucks I've worked on. The car will be lowered next summer, which is around the same time I plan on getting new wheels.

For the 'widebody' WRX's ('11 - '13) A pretty common fitment is 18x9.5 +38mm Running like 255's or 265 tires. That is fairly agressive though and I don't know what fender work (if any) it takes to run a setup like that.

And yes, stock wheel size on those is 17x8 (+53 or +55, can't ever remember)

My head hurts from trying to figure this out.
So say I'm going for a very aggressive look on a swapped GC. I'm ordering diamond racing steelies in a 17x10. What offset do I need?

That said, a +42 offset should "work" on the car. You will notice though that the wheel sticks out slightly (1/4") more than stock. You may also notice more sensitive steering feel. Bearing wear may be an issue but many of the Subaru specialists feel wear would be insignificant or non-existent.

Hope this helps,
Eric
my head is spinning from all the info that I'm reading.

my 2012 impreza hatch is running stock 17x7 +48 with stock 205/50R17 tires and I was considering 17x9 +42 with 215/45/17.

I didn't see the 9" width listed on the chart so how would this swap affect me?

From what I've been reading, the +42 offset would probably not rub BUT the 9" wide wheel I have no idea about especially in the steering clearance?

And then the issues of load and bearings makes me wary...

A bit of help please!

So doing more research I see that with the 17x9 wheel/tire combo,
  • the overall diameter will be ~1% smaller
  • will be 19mm/.75" closer to the inner wheel well
  • pushed out 31mm/1.22" towards the fender

What's the wheel well clearance on my model Subie???

Bueller Bueller?

Anyone with advice on this setup?

Will I have any issues with the inner wheel well...especially with sharp turns?

Yes, they are nearly identical in specs to your OEM wheels.

Id say ~+38 or so. And flares. Definitely flares. Maybe +40ish.

forget the 215's for the 17x9...way too much stretch. thinking about 235/40/17...will that get me to stock impreza height? or should I go 235/45/17?

Asked this in a diff thread but then i noticed this would be a better thread to post it in.

Looking into the Ray's 57 Xtreme wheel. was planning to go with 18x9.5 complety clueless about this offset situation. I do want a concave look, something crazy but nto TOOO crazy lol. I have a buddy with rota grids 18x10 +35 off set, but that wheel has a lip. Work makes a similar wheel to the 57xtremes, THe work Emotion Work Emotion CR-KAI. I know alot of people have the wheels on the 08+ wry/sti's Any help with offset specs on those. It is the closet wheel i cant find that looks simials to the CR-KAI's. I'm not looking for a super thing extra tire looks, I'm looking for a meaty, but not to meaty stance if you know what i mean. I do know offset descions are a bit confusing. Would greatly aprreciate the help. I am running 25mm spacers on the rear and 15mm spacers on the front with the stock wrx limited bbs spider spoke wheels. I love the fitment with spacer and my ride height. If have to camber the wheels a tad bit but im not going to crazy with my camber, the wrx is daily driven in the ****ty roads of jersey and nyc. Please give me some tips/help/ and advice i would greatly appreciate it!!! If you have pics of people wiht the CR-KAI's that would be nice.

lol that was funny why look cool when you can do both with just taking the time out and asking the right people. Form and Funtion is must with a subi any subi...otherwise whats the point of having a beast like that
