I cant tell you location of all of them but on my friends ej20g it needed different sizes. And If the engine isnt a stock engine than probably the only way to tell if its a 20g or 20k is to look at the deck and see if its semi closed or fully closed.
Sorry Im not much help. |

sorry to tell you but EJ20k's were not closed deck or semi closed deck. most V1-V6 were open deck and some V1-V2 EJ20Gs were closed.
you dont need to pull the heads to find out. just look at the hump for the starter. this will tell you. if it has ridges on it its closed deck. if its smooth its open. as for the engine, unless someone swapped the engine, a 1998 V5 WRX should be an early open deck EJ207. Message me with you email address and ill send you some information on the 97-98 Impreza that includes all the wiring and vacuum diagrams. As for finding a boost leak, your best bet is to get your hands on a smoke machine. or take it to someone that has one. will make finding a leak easy as pie. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com Last edited by suberdave; 08-07-2017 at 06:32 PM. ^ Dave, you're close but not really
v3/4 were called EJ20G or EJ20K and v5/6 are EJ205 or EJ207 depending on WRX or STi trim (and which WRX among those) none of the EJ20K were closed deck, all v3-6 models were open deck. none of the v1-6 were semi closed, that started with v7 (bugeye STi EJ207) only some of the v1/2 EJ20G were closed deck, usually externally indicated by the ribs on the starter bump or on the top of the case halves anyways back to OP's question, you should really do a smoke test or you could get the car idling and then spray tiny squirts of brake/carb cleaner around the engine bay at all the lines/hoses/connections to see if you observe any change in idle, that usually means you have a leak. "1998" could be v4 or v5 depending... but v5/6 are similar to each other and v3/4 are similar to each other. OP you should post a picture of your engine bay Here are some engine bay shots of the v5/6 WRX/STi EJ205/EJ207 if that helps: http://www.powerlabs.org/images/swapbay.jpg http://www.suberdave.com/USMB/EJ207%...wap%20(26).JPG http://i46.tinypic.com/72bmeg.jpg http://www.powerlabs.org/images/carengine.jpg https://farm8.static.flickr.com/7607...e9963f3c_b.jpg |

In your previous posts you said it was a (V3/V4) EJ20K? Can you confirm the model and get back to us?
If it is an EJ20K, I found the service manual which has some really helpful vacuum diagrams. I will post it when I go to work, as it is saved on my work computer. Check out this thread, it is very helpful too: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f128/t157...oid-setup.html So I can't upload the document, but here are all the diagrams from the service manual showing the vacuum and evap system: Last edited by i10scooby; 08-09-2017 at 03:23 AM. |

He's in Australia it will be a V4 EJ20K (open deck shim over bucket TD04) unless the build date is after September then it's a V5 (coil pack off centre)

Realtor Business Plan
Writing a business plan may appear to be a single word, yet it represents a complete organisation. We noticed that estate organisations who do not prioritise a professional realtor business plan approach fall short in the majority of critical business scenarios! Why don't you know all of this before you face a horrible situation?
