Default Safest cleaner/cleaning solution for STI red crinkle intake manifold

What was / is considered the best gentle / natural cleaner for dust or dirt on the red crinkle coat intake manifold on the STI?

Has this been tested before over x amount of time to ensure it doesn't slowly thin out and flake the finish

No. I did it once and had great results. Spray on entire engine bay. Soak for a 5-10mins, spray off. I didn't keep it clean long term because it's an engine bay with a huge hole in the hood so making it clean was pointless other than once a year or two to check for leaks and such

If you are really worried maybe buy a used one and test different methods until you find the right one to try on your actual car. That red crinkle comes off pretty easily I can tell you
