I'd honestly ask Borg Warner... It could be a defective BPV if the same setup isn't surging on another car but is in yours

Right! Thatís what I thought but this is the 3rd bpv I have tried. It just changes the characteristics. And itís weird cause lighter springs just make it more prevalent at lower boost levels.

That's what I'm wondering... if the port did not actually get machined. Does it sound like a WRC rally car? Because they don't/didn't run BOVs. They also replace turbos all the time as a wear item.

Running a secondary external BPV would let you swap and quickly determine if it's the BPV or not. Some setups just do it more than others. Sleep well knowing it's not the bad kind of surge. Off-throttle stustusstus do no harm, but gain you street cred points.

As far as making it quieter, you can go back to an airbox; think of it as a reverse muffler. I don't think changing the inlet or compressor housing inlet will do anything since the sound is coming from the outlet side of the compressor/wheel.

All internal EFR bovs do that even my turbo smart one. Its doing it because the exit compressor hole isn't big enough to get the air out in time. It does become a problem when you run over 30 psi and there is major spike in intercooler piping ones throttle closes.

I run tial 50mm with stiff spring and turbo smart bov on EFR cover, seems to work great on 8474

Thank you for your input. So you can run two bypass valves at the same time? That should be interesting. I think Iíll give that a shot with a Tial QR. (their recirculating valve). Maybe that will calm down the stututus. I do love how it sounds And if I ever want them for some street cred or event I can just cap off the v-band flange lol I just feel itís a bit aggressive for Los Angeles streets lol
