Is there an easier way to get that accomplished than tweaking up the ISO some? I see what you are saying with the exposure.

On that note though, you'd be surprised what a wide aperture can do for a panning shot...this one was 1/125 @ ƒ2.8: |

Sick shot. Can someone please give me advice on the next lens i should buy. I was going to get a 50mm prime, but now I'm thinking I should invest in a good zoom. Help!

Picking up my Nikkor 135 f2 tomorrow. |

Any Canon suggestions that won't break the bank?

Thanks If you don't have any other lens right now, I highly recommend the 50mm ƒ1.8 because it's inexpensive and the fact that it's a prime will definitely help in developing your composition skills.

I'm just worried about doing portrait stuff with that lens, it might get tight indoors, unless I can find a 35 for the same price.

Well you typically wouldn't be doing portrait stuff with less than a 50mm anyway, since wide angles tend to distort. Nevertheless, there should be a Canon 35mm ƒ1.8 out there for decently cheap.

I will make the 50 my next purchase then! I do need a lens for racing season though, and good zooms are expensive!

so we had rain in california, crazy times i know. lol anyway, any time we get clouds and storms i try to get out and shoot. same location ive shot at many times, with a different take on processing. i know the water running down the foreground kills it, but documenting clouds in Orange County is something else!

I love the sky/clouds...and I think the water on the ground adds to the sky! The angle of the car is weird....any other shots!?

Decided to wash the car yesterday and take some photos.
Comments desired (exposure, composition...). Finally feel like I captured a level of sharpness that I'm happy with...except it was with the kit lens (18-105mm f/3.5-5.6) and not the 17-35mm f/2.8. DSC_3903 by coldmm803, on Flickr Plain old side shot. Don't think I've done one of the legacy before. Should it have been dead center of the frame? DSC_3907 by coldmm803, on Flickr |

Hey guys, went to an awesome time attack event today at Limerock Park in CT then did a little photo shoot. I think I got a few good shots, as always advice is welcome!
I have about 25 more, but I'll start off small with these in case you guys hate them. |

Honestly not my favorite shot of yours. Lighting and composition doesn't seem as good as some of your other shots. If anything, I think it goes to show that the lens doesn't make the shot, the photographer does. I'm sure you'll take great shots with the lens, I just don't think that's one of them. It is a good shot. Just not great.
