Default Heading to Texas.....any food recommendations?

Hey all, I had posted a thread a little while back when I last visited and hoping for some new food recommendations. Heading to the Plano this time for work and am hoping to hit up a good BBQ spot and a Tex Mex spot. I'll have a rental car and am willing to drive a bit as well if the place is worth it. LMK your thoughts

Houstonian here.

When I drive through Dallas, there are two fast-food chains I always to try to hit: Grandy's and Braum's.

Sorry, that's all I got. But I really like those chains.

Been away from the are for about 7 years now, didn't have a very refined pallet when I was there so best I can recommend for places is to check out the Great Outdoors for subs and Burger Street for a good fast food burger with great curly fries and milk shakes.
Braum's is also good for ice cream or a burger, they also sell some regular groceries.

Thanks for the recommendations. As for burgers and such, I've heard of Whataburger. Any good?

If your just content with FF, yes Whataburger.
TX staple.

Is that all your looking for?
How much you willing to spend for ecstasy of food experience?

FYI, Plano is, well lets just say, lil snootie.

Got brother lives there
I will txt him 2 choices for TMex
Expensive/less than $$

Whataburger used to be good, but they were bought out by a Chicago firm a couple of years ago. Individual franchises are hit or miss now. Last couple I hit were a miss. It is a great loss.

For a unique good food experience in Plano, I'd go with Love and War in Texas.
