![]() Just got back from RR with my bone stock '05 STi, 218.9hp.
Jamie or Pat, feel free to post the plots if people are interested in what a bone stock STi plot looks like. Thanks for the great work, I'll be back for a custom tune in the spring.

![]() We're usually pretty flexible with the Dyno but it will depend week to week. If you call at the beginning of a week for an appointment towards the end of the week that is best. Also please be available early in the morning for Dyno runs or later in the afternoon (much preferrably the morning though) as that will be when we most likely have time (and it is cooler).

![]() Pat or Jamie....do you guys have any dyno results from a RR Protuned AP with essentially stage 2 mods? I see Cobb states 285 (crank) hp for that setup, what is the typical WHP for that?

![]() 210-220, would be around the same as a custom ecutek tune with same mods.

![]() I have seen cobb APs (not protuned) vary widely, but that is mostly due to boost creep/spiking. In other words, a wee bit unsafe.
they make too much boost, det, then pull back. I've seen this on 4 different occasions. 230 on our dyno is way too high for a cobb stg. 2 setup... because of the spiking, some have been as low as 205, highest I think was 217. |

![]() Question about Protuned AP - would it just appear as another uploadable map on the AP, or am I "stuck" with the Protuned map once I have it done? And would Protuned maps be available as realtime maps, as base maps, or both?
Also, would you see a noticeable change in fuel economy with, for example, a Stage 2 Protuned vs a "stock" Stage 2 94 octane map? My main concern is daily driveability - I like the flexibility of having a relatively sedate map for around town, and the ability to crank things up for track days and other competition events. |

![]() whatever you want. We can add it as a set of maps. A basemap and a realtime map, which are used TOGETHER. If you want to use the stock realtime maps, you have to go back tot he stock basemap. (you should, anyways).
I'm not going to get into it, but in essence, you could do a protune as just a realtime map over base cobb, but you lose certain things that are good to do and that net gains. But if you load in a protuned basemap, your original non-protuned realtime maps in theory shouldn't be used with it. When you load in a protuned basemap, there should be a corresponding realtime map that is selected. Using the other realtime maps with a protuned basemap, is, well, not a smart thing to do (it works, but you dont get the results). Only use them with the stock basemap. SO with all that said, its best to remove the stock realtime maps, because all a customer has to do is put the wrong realtime map over the basemap, and they can cause problems. You should also be aware that you should always select the corresponging realtime map that goes with your basemap... by 'default' the basemap may not include all the things in the realtime map, depending on the protuner/cobb. |

![]() Hmmm interesting. I have been thinking about another EM for some time and like the ease and price of the AP. Especially if I pick one up 2nd hand and then take it to you for a Protune.
