Default Big problem? RPMs drop slowly after clutch is pressed.

I searched around, but since I don't know the real problem I couldn't find a similar post.

Problem: When shifting between gears the RPMs "bog down" and drop significantly slower than usual. Any gear does this so long as I hit a few thousand RPMs. I am looking for any help on this whether it is a link or explanation. Thanks!

Do the RPMs return to normal quickly? As in drop below idle only for a split second and then stabilize?

Define "bog down" and "significantly slower than usual." With a manual Subaru when you push in the clutch to shift while at speed, the RPM's will drop down "dramatically" and then bounce back up to 1-1500 or so.
